Areas that require masks since 3/1?

Not that I know of.  I'm planning on carrying a mask in my pocket when I'm outside of my stateroom this upcoming March 28 cruise.  Just in case there is an area I want to go in that is requiring to mask up.  I hope there are very few of these areas.👍

It was for cruises starting after 3/1, so in theory the cruises had to start Monday. I think many people were hopeful even if the cruise left before 3/1, that 3/1 would be a magical day. I am not sure how they can say some venues may require masks, and then go ALL the way to sip and cover.

Someone on CC mentioned that they were still required to "sip and cover" while watching a stand up comic.

I believe this review was on a ship that sailed PRIOR TO 03/01/22.

We are on the Mardi Gras now and of the areas we have been to after the 1st, people who want to wear masks are wearing them and those who don’t want to wear them are not.

These areas include all of the walkways inside of the ship, the comedy show areas, the theater, and even the elevators. At this point, if someone is so concerned about getting Covid by breathing the same air as an unmasked, vaccinated, and recently negative Covid testing person, cruising might not be for them at this time.

My husband and I have already decided that if strict mask mandates are brought back, we will not cruise during that time. The first few days of this cruise and constantly wearing masks really took away from our enjoyment. Now it’s great though. It feels just like old times.

Thank you so much for sharing what is actually happening on board. We don’t want to wear masks all the time on a cruise either.

Do you have young kids? I’m curious about the kids club.

Probably won't know until after this weekend's cruises kick off.

I'd be willing to guess John Heald will post something based on Mardi Gras.

Good point! I’ll keep watching and listening to reports coming in.

We don’t have young kids so I don’t know anything about the kids clubs. There are very few kids on this cruise.  Maybe someone cruising with kids right now will be able to help.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear!!  I didn't want to have to sip and cover while watching the Comedy show or in the theater.  I agree with you, if you feel it unsafe because people can choose to not wear a mask.... then don't cruise right now!!    I don't sail until April so I hope nothing happens and it reverts back.

I don't see why they would, all kids going to the kids club have to be vaccinated and they are getting rid of masks in schools everywhere too, even here in Cali on March 11th. It wouldn't make much sense and would peeve a lot of people off who are booking for spring break. I just don't see them shooting themselves in the foot by making kids mask when everyone isn't.

I hear you. I literally think asking vaccinated, tested kids to mask when around other vaccinated, tested kids is a ridiculous policy….but I read in a press release that Royal was doing it. People have truly lost their minds with covid and kids. I hope Carnival chooses otherwise. 🤞

Good to know. Won't be looking at RCI anytime soon then. Navigator of the seas is out. Not supporting mask nonsense or a commie supporting cruise line still sailing to commie dictator ports. 🇺🇦

Just off Breeze this morning. We sailed on the 28th and even then masks weren't being enforced. The person doing our muster drill was asked if we would need to wear masks throughout our cruise and he said the new protocols start for ships sailing tomorrow so we have to wear them today, but "tomorrow is a brand new day". After muster I would say the number of people wearing masks was around 25%. By the next day and for the rest of the cruise it was around 10%. As for the venues, mask wearing simply wasn't enforced anywhere that I could see. I did hear an announcement in the casino to wear masks, but after the announcement I didn't see a single gambler don a mask. The only other announcement I heard was this morning asking people to wear masks while disembarking. I'm sure it will vary from ship to ship and crew to crew as to how it's enforced. The crew is still 100% masked unless they were up on stage in the theater and away from the passengers.

Looks like I need to amend this. Royal Caribbean has canceled the commie dictator invader port. Good on them. 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦
