bjay3 Posted March 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2022 I've just reached Ambassador level. How long does it take to be able to book free cruise and what is the special gist I get and do we get one each ?
snorklinbarb Posted March 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2022 Not there yet (Diamond) so don't know the answer. But just wanted to say Congratulations! Let us know what you choose for your free cruise! With Diamond one-time cabin upgrade, it must be booked within a year of becoming that level. Does it work the same way with your free cruise? Enjoy! There's not too many Ambassadors!
spanishguy1970 Posted March 12, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2022 congratulations. We are Diamond as well, but a long way to go to make Ambassador.
casofilia Posted March 12, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2022 (edited) @bjay3 You have 12 months to TAKE the cruise once you become Ambassador so get to it!! I asked about it and here is a reply I got Good morning, Once you become and ambassador you can email us and we will make the reservation for you. You will have one year from the day you become an ambassador to complete the sailing. Regards, Nanci Dueñas | Ambassador DeskP: 1 -800-625-5672 ambassadormembers@ncl.com Norwegian Cruise Line 7665 Corporate Center Drive | Miami FL 33126 That was in reply to mine I sent an email to my PCC in Sydney and he gave me your email address to contact. I know it is a long way away but my wife and I will both get to Ambassador level; if all goes well from now on and we have no more cruises cancelled; after a Transatlantic cruise in April 2023. We have sufficient cruises booked before that to get us from our 550 points to over the required 700. That raises a few questions. I found the following:- Complimentary 7-Day Cruise – Ambassador Ambassador members will be offered a one-time complimentary 7-day cruise. I presume that means that we would get one 7 day cruise for the two of us for each of us; ie two cruises. The cruise is for 2 people in a balcony stateroom, third and fourth guests will be at prevailing rates. Pity we couldn't change it to an Inside and take some perks instead!! Eligible members will have one (1) year to take the complimentary cruise. We would be looking to do an Hawaiian for one of us and an Alaskan one for the other. And so we would want to do them in late 2023 rather than before April 2024. That means we would be rushing to have them in place by the time we get back to New Zealand following a cruise immediately after the Transatlantic There are no destination restrictions but holiday sailings are excluded. In that case would cruises starting on 2nd Sep 2024 and 16th Sep 2024 are outside that restriction please. No promotions are included. Taxes and fees not included. Service charges not included. We expected that to be the case!!!! As we would be in hotels for the period between the end of the Transatlantic and the start of the Black Sea cruise (April/May 2024) could we make arrangements to do the bookings through you by an American 1800 number? I am able to access those numbers free through Skype.. Thank you Ka Kite Ano There are my comments in the actual statements from the website HTH Mike Edited March 12, 2022 by casofilia

How long does it take to be able to book free cruise and what is the special gist I get and do we get one each ? Casofilia posted some good info at Post #4. Just remember you each get one cruise. If you can arrange a B2B that would work. You can also upgrade your balcony cabin. When we took ours, we did not get any current perks that were being offered. No Bev Package, no Dining package, etc. We just got info from the Next cruise staff on when VIP events were being held and then crashed the party after talking to the Concierge, saying "What, Ambassador level is not considered a VIP?" You should contact your PCC, Travel agent or NCL directly about the cruise, and do it as soon as possible in order to get your cruise scheduled. P.S. As of the first week of December there were approximately 130 Ambassadors with NCL. You have joined a very dedicated group loyal to Norwegian Cruise Lines. Welcome. casofilia Posted March 13, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2022 @Landl cruiser "What, Ambassador level is not considered a VIP?" There were a couple of Ambassador couples on a cruise we were on and that was the most astonishing thing I heard from them. I would hope that any GM would accord any Ambassador VIP status if asked. You should contact your PCC, Travel agent or NCL Direct about the cruise, and do it as soon as possible in order to get your cruise scheduled. I wonder if the email address in my post above (ambassadormembers@ncl.com) or the phone number (1 -800-625-5672) would ensure a more rapid and more accurate response. ============================================== We have enough cruises booked to get us to Ambassador May 2023 and have already "penciled in" on our computer what we want to do so we can send to the above as soon as we get there. We want to do Alaska and Hawai'i before the end of the 2023 season.

We want to do Alaska and Hawai'i before the end of the 2023 season. They used to have a special phone number for Ambassadors, but I called it and it was an ad for a Life Alert monitor. Couldn't believe I had dialed the right number so I called it again and again and again. I still do not need a life alert monitor. I spoke to one of the NCL Reps at corporate and they were going to check into it. I did not write that number down so I do not know if that number has been changed or if it is the same number I dialed.

pcakes122 Posted March 13, 2022 #9 Share Posted March 13, 2022 Congratulations on reaching Ambassador! 🙌 I honestly think NCL could do MUCH, MUCH better to reward the loyalty (and acknowledge the investment in NCL!) for folks having cruised with them so much/long. The Ambassador reward cruise should be Haven MINIMUM, if not Owner's Suite+. All perks should be included! Free transport & airfare to the port, etc.! I'm really disappointed in NCL for the the level of Ambassador perks. In contrast, folks hitting the top level (Elite) in NCL's Casinos at Sea program DO get (in addition to regular free cruises!) free car service to/from the pier, free premium beverages, free internet, free service charges & more! (I currently get comp Haven cruises from NCL through CAS and I am not spending ANYWHERE NEAR what someone who has reached Ambassador level with them has!) They could truly make the Ambassador rewards SPECTACULAR - especially since there are so few reaching that level! I truly think NCL has dropped the ball on their Ambassadors.

We're still barely Diamond, but with plenty of cruises booked and some triple point bonuses we could reach Ambassador in 2023 or 2024. 16 hours ago, Landl cruiser said: P.S. Crown Vic Posted March 13, 2022 #11 Share Posted March 13, 2022 Gotta say that we have been treated like Royalty by Nanci and the Ambassador Desk staff. With some stability in the World, we are looking forward to our Ambassador cruise towards the end of this year.

I have cruises ncl 3 times . Twice for free with casinos at sea and in haven or suites. I agree 100 with OP but I think all the levels don’t really reward loyalty at all. The only level that seems to actually be worth crossing is platinum
Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted March 10 #14 Share Posted March 10 @bjay3 I've just reached Ambassador level. Should that be we? Makes a difference!! How long does it take to be able to book free cruise It will take a few days after you have finished the cruise you are on for the information to get through to them and then "it is all on". Email contact works through AmbassadorMembers@ncl.com and I suggest that is the way to contact them rather than by phone. I found them excellent to deal with. The "Free Cruise" is a cruise with NO FARE only. You will still have to pay the Taxes etc. and the DSC. Also there are NO perks. It is a 7 day cruise for 2 people in a balcony cabin. If there are two people who achieved Ambassador then it is 2 cruises, each for 2 people. You can make it ONE cruise for 2 people on a 14 day cruise. We looked at it and booked what we found was the most expensive 7 day cruise, twice; the Pride round Hawai'i. ... and what is the special gist I get and do we get one each ? This is again where the earlier question cuts in. You only get one each if there are two of you who have both attained Latitude Ambassador status. Likewise you will each get a special Ambassador pin with your name on it when each of you is Ambassador. Here is my pin; mainly the same size as a normal pin with an extra piece at the bottom with your name on. It comes in a glass fronted box with a complete set of the earlier pins. The gift is a set of carry-on luggage; again one each if you both become Ambassadors. Here is the card that explains the luggage and the luggage laid out. A word of warning. I believe that they only send out pins and gifts twice a year. We were told that our details were forwarded to whoever early in December; the pins arrived early in February and the gift towards the end of the month.
