Formal night on 5 day Caribbean cruise?

It's usually the first sea day. Many people ignore it and just dress as they would on any other day. They are trying to do away with the word "formal".  They call it "Evening Chic" or "Dress your Best".  On this night you see everything from shorts and t-shirts to formal gowns and tuxedos. Most people wear whatever they feel comfortable in. Caribbean cruises tend to be less formal than cruises in other parts of the world.
