DAllenTCY Posted March 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2022 Please be aware of the San Diego 1/2 Marathon and 5 K races on 3/27/22. Access from the pier to the airport will be disrupted until 10 am. Please be certain that your departing flights are not before noon. 1
victory2020 Posted March 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2022 Thanks for the heads up. I'm debarking on the 27th & have to cross the boulevard to get to my car!

Our last Carnival ship had 742 - it was heaven! (maybe not for the crew...)
SDARCH Posted March 20, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 20, 2022 Thanks for the heads-up David. This is one of the most disruptive events that takes place in San Diego. Totally irresponsible to route a race past the airport and port on Harbor.

At least they did not do it on April 3 when 3 ships arrive! Would not be happy if I was arriving on race day and had scheduled an early flight! Rare Vict0riann Posted March 20, 2022 #7 Share Posted March 20, 2022 We are boarding that day, after one night in a Comfort Inn on the other side of the airport, so thank you for the information. We will plan accordingly!
AV8rix Posted March 20, 2022 #8 Share Posted March 20, 2022 (edited) I'm also boarding that day. But I'll be staying at Wyndham so, presumably, won't be affecting me? But THANKS for the heads-up! Edited March 20, 2022 by AV8rix

Also, for outbound traffic, only one or two lanes are closed off; it’s not the entire street. Unfortunately, I don’t recall the situation by the port as I don’t recall any ships being in port that year.

I was beginning to think I was going to be the only passenger from our side of the Pond on this cruise, haven't seen any others on the roll call or mentioned anywhere else.
