LEMJMcC Posted March 30, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2022 Just booked a JS on deck 8 of Wonder of the Seas. Noticed on the deck plan that the Rising Tide Bar is very close. My dear wife wondered if the locale might be noisy. Can anyone weigh in on this? We're in JS 8240. Thanks.

Your cabin isn't near the rising tide bar at all. It is out in Central Park and your cabin is off a corridor that does not open to Central Park. Thanks That is a very quiet bar that goes up and down between Central Park and the Royal Promenade. It also isn't always open. There are doors between Central Park and the elevator lobby, there are doors to enter that bar that only open when the bar is up at that level plus you are a good distance down that corridor. There is no way you hear anything from that bar.
RoperDK Posted March 30, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2022 We love deck 8 cabins near the back elevators on Oasis class. So convenient to everything and we've never had any noise issues.
Rare cruisinghawg Posted March 30, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 30, 2022 There is also a restaurant between your cabin and the bar. The Rising Tide does not have bands or singers as it is to small for such.
bgoff60 Posted March 31, 2022 #7 Share Posted March 31, 2022 ZERO chance of hearing ANYTHING from the rising tide.

Thanks As mentioned it is typically a very quiet venue. But even if it was noisy, your location on the outside of the ship with a restaurant in between would insulate anything. You would more likely have noise from Chops first. But that is also not an issue. Those staterooms are very quite and convenient to the elevator banks and all the venues in CP. We have in fact been in 8240 and it was one of our favorite JS's. You have nothing to concern yourself regarding noise. Looks like they may be deeper?? Yes, they have a deeper balcony. 8240 is a GREAT location, mid-hump. As everyone else has said, you will not hear anything at all from that tiny little bar in the middle of central park. Seriously tiny, completely enclosed, only open somewhat limited hours, and half the time it's down on deck 6. It's more of a novelty than a bar where people 'hang out' for a long time. Just the opposite - it is open on all sides to the Royal Promenade as it rises from deck 5 through deck 7. It only is enclosed when it reaches deck 8 (CP) by the glass surround. Unless you mean that it is enclosed there and therefore quiet - which would indeed be the case. And the hours are typically late afternoon until around 11:00 PM or so, cycling with time spent pretty much evenly on CP and deck 5, which are the access decks. You are absolutely correct regarding the balcony sizes - that is what makes those located on the hump the most appealing IMO. Yes, I meant completely enclosed when it's 'docked' on deck 8, which is the deck that the OP was concerned about with regard to loud noise from partying or music--neither which applies to the Rising Tide Bar. And oops, yes, deck 5 to start. Funny, I was just on it a few weeks ago, lol, how soon we forget. 😛 Edited March 31, 2022 by rockmom
