Love the location of the Grand Class Suites.  And just look at that balcony!  What did Princess NOT understand about these super great suites when they redesigned the Royal Class ships?

HA! We were just talking about that!! The suite cabins on the Grand are a bit smaller than the Royal Class but the balconies are to die for!!😍

I really appreciated seeing the photos of your suite--now I really know what we missed.  We were booked for C409 for the Sea of Cortez cruise in Feb but unfortunately, I tested positive for covid so had to cancel.  It would have been our first suite experience.  We were on the GRAND in Jan for their first Hawaii cruise.  Weather for those first couple of days were quite mild.  Now looking for our first suite experience on the SAPPHIRE in Sept.  Enjoy all your other comments.

We had dinner in the DaVinci dining room. I have reserved 6:40 the entire cruise and 6:50 for the specialties. Mom likes to eat early. Our table wasn’t ready so we waited about 15 minutes before we were seated. There were others in the same situation

We have 2,108 passengers onboard and Its hard for the staff to know how long people will take to eat. My guess is people were taking longer than expected. I feel so bad for the staff. You can tell they are trying hard to make everyone happy. The poor hostess was trying hard to get people seated.

The food was meh. I had the Ceasar (5 out of 10 forks) and Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken (7 out of 10 forks). For dessert I had the Creme Brûlée (8 out of 10 forks).;BA535417-D330-4C60-9D1F-68D6DE871C57.thumb.jpeg.b01b168446162fce9fe979954aebd775.jpeg

After dinner we heard the singer in the theater. He was good. He sang slower show tune type songs. I saw some people get up and leave. Perhaps he wasn’t what people expected. I think he returns for a second show later in the week. We might skip it.

I don’t mind sharing our cabin. It’s on the roll call spreadsheet so everyone on CC and this sailing know where I am😜

We are in a PH right by the mid elevators C420. The balcony is nice! Wide and long with a table, 4 chairs, 2 loungers and a smaller table.;1E989616-E4C8-4142-A782-7076E7F7F624.thumb.jpeg.d2916f433fa8f337febc40626fda0e7a.jpeg

Where will you be staying? If in Manhattan, Hermosa or Redondo then I’d eat at Nicks in Manhattan Beach.

Okay that is a nice balcony. I’m moving to mid ship suites to see if it helps with Adam’s occasional seasickness issues.  We are at the doubletree but have the car. I’ll check out Nicks. Thanks!

Hey Stranger...... I was going to say "Hope You Have An Enjoyable Cruise", but I can see from your "Soldier Down"🍾 photo, that won't be necessary. LOL

Can't wait to sail with you again. Hopefully, in the near future. We leave out of S.F. on the 16th for a California Coastal Cruise.

Talk Soon.

Nicks is not romantic but it has a fun atmosphere and the food is great! Seabass and filet are excellent. You must have the better cake for dessert. To. Die. For. Great wines and all reasonably priced for the South Bay. I’m very happy with our suite. Note though, our balcony on the Royal Class ship was not nearly as nice!

Speaking about the pub crawl, I found out we are able to go to the Chefs Dinner🥳👏🏻🥳 Bad news is it’s on the same day as the pub crawl. Murphy’s Law!😂😂 Oh well, guess I won’t be imbibing too much.

Hope you are enjoying your Suite. When we were on the Grand back in 2016, we snagged the Grand Suite, (L301), the one with the inside/outside hot tub. It was definitely a "Sweet Suite".

Did they say if the Chef's Table is going to include the Galley Tour also ?? I'm thinking it may not happen for health reasons. I'm sure you will let us know in your daily updates.

No Way!! We were in that exact suite in October!! It is awesome 😍 No galley tour. I’ll be posting so you can see the changes. Cheers my friends.🥂

Mom and I got some steps in by walking around the ship. Then I made a spa appointment for Friday. I have to use up a ton of OBC. The weather looks pretty good so I may try getting some sun today.

@HBCcruiser. I’m glad to see you are doing this live from. I am sailing to Hawaii for the first time out of LA this fall. So I will be very excited to read about your experiences.

I am wondering if you (or anyone else reading this) has ever used the long term parking at the pier. I found the website,  got the costs, read where someone said a month pass actually is cheaper than per day——great tip!——but I can’t get my head around the logistics of it.  Is it like those huge airport parking lots where there’s a tram that runs the circuit thru the lot to get to the pier? Or is it close enough for able bodied folks to walk after they’ve dropped off their luggage with the porters?

Thank you in advance and have a great trip!  Bon voyage!

We are doing the parking for the first time. It is a big open lot but it is gated and feels very secure. We found the way in with no problem and could see our car from the ship. I will miss the covered parking we have done at the hotel but will be very happy to walk off the ship and get right in our car
