I sailed solo twice on carnival. There were no get togethers that I knew of. I made friendly conversation with lots of people and enjoyed my table mates at dinner but there was nothing formal.

Sometimes but only if others have also requested to share tables right then.

At lunch it was more common to share a table then at dinner. ..and they dont tell you. I might push requesting to share, a table number comes up. I take it and they walk me to a table for 2. Nothing is said do you want to wait longer.. its computer driven.

If you choose early or late dining (not anytime dining) they will seat you at the "solo" table with the other solo cruisers.

If you choose...  assigned dining may be all solos or a  mix of solos and couples.  Some Maîtres seat same sex solos together. I have only been seated with a family once

I have been on many solo sailings, Carnival and 2 NCL. NCL does a better job of solo events… but I don’t go to them, I go to be solo.  Lol.  If you choose anytime dining, there is a box to check if you want a shared table.  If you don’t check it they will seat you at a table for two.  It’s up to you, they will accommodate you anyway you like.  I love traveling solo so much, it’s  hard to travel with someone now..  lol.   Next up..  Horizon 7/23

My last two cruises were solo. If you have your time dining, there is an option to be seated with others at dinner or you can ask for a solo table. Shared tables at brunch were the norm. You can also join some cruise roll calls on social media, because they organize lots of shared activities.
