Then off to the retreat lounge for a drink before dinner. Ananas The Retreat Barman had found some Amaro Nardini and made me his version of a Paper Plane. Normally it would be Equal parts Woodford Bourbon, Amaro Nonino, Aperol and Lemon Juice but he couldn't find any Nonino so substituted with the Nardini. A very plesant drink which My Gastrognome actually thought better than the one I had in the World Class Bar yesterday. There was also an ecelent selection of nibbles available. The big difference from our last time on Silhouette was that one could help ones self where as last Summer it was all selected and serve for you.

I’m not keen that it is back to self serve. Especially with cases still high

Tell Ananas we are sorry we disappeared so quickly.   He is really a good  barman and we chatted with every night.

Lovely meal at Murano Last night and we were greeted like a long lost friend by Petar the Maître d’hotel in charge of all the specialities. The food as always was excellent even if the table side flambé reminds me of going to restaurants with my parents in the 70s. I never seem to be surprised by the miniature Salt and pepper.

The only slight miss was the desert. I had ordered the chocolate soufflé and my Gastrognome the Grand Marnier soufflé, but to our surprise two Grand Marnier ones arrived. Unfortunately the waiter insisted in correcting the mistake by taking away my one and not returning with the chocolate one for over ten minutes. This left us with the quandary of either my Gastrognome letting hers go cold or eating our deserts in shifts. Not ideal and in hindsight I should have not said anything and we could have eaten our deserts together. The cheese was as always the best on the ship.

Enjoying every minute of your posts. Thanks for taking the time. Do you have a picture of the current Murano menu?

My sister-in-law and I will be on the May 7 sailing, can't wait!  I have been on about 40 cruises worldwide but this is her first.  I have planned all the excursions and dining at the specialty restaurants. She has no idea what to expect so I think it will be fun to experience this cruise with a "newbie".

I don't see the lobster on the menu.  Can you request it?

Interested that there are no food intolerance symbols on the Murano menu, unlike the MDR.

MDR is the only venue(that I know of) that has food intolerance symbols.  I suggest on every survey they be added to all menus but for some reason they don’t listen to me!

The first thing they ask you in any of the specialities is "do you have an food allargies"

The delayed timing of the reordered chocolate soufflé, most probably, had to do with the preparation of it.

Soufflés are time sensitive from preparation to serving,as you probably realize.

I realised that but it would have been better to remove both deserts and start again than have a table with only two people have a course sered more than ten minutes apart.

A few pics from Haugesund today. Just a 15 minute stroll into a delightful Norwegian town. A slight problem for those who don’t like hightys is the 22 meter high narrow bridge that serves as the only way off the island where we docked to the mainland.
