Thanks for all your posts - especially the pics.
I might have missed it but haven’t noticed if you have reported the covid situation onboard. Has the captain announced if there are many positives onboard?

@groryjm any chance you can ask guest services or your concierge what the expected total on board is for the next sailing leaving the 7th?

It's now showing sold out on line but that may be because its two days before departure.

You're coming back to glorious weather, predicted to reach 25c by next week in the South

I just asked Daniel the Retreat manager and says they are expecting about 2500 at the moment but might drop a little with no shows and people testing posative pre cruise

from about day two Captian George has been announcing each day that there a few new cases amoungst the pasangers, all mild or asymtomatic. Yesterday he added to his daily announcement that we were just over 1% of all onboard had tested posative.

In the past we have headed to Luminae for breakfast or grabbed something at the buffet to eat in the room but this cruise we have relied entirely on Nelson bringing it to our room. I have to say it has been great each day and as we have this glorious coffee machine the coffee better than Café el Bacio. I am it seems getting rather predictable. what will I do when we get home. Just plain coffee me thinks. At least for the 58 days until we board Reflection 😉

I have noticed that in the room or Luminae a hot breakfast allways has potatoe, asparagus and mushrooms which I always ignore. Why?

We arrived in Bergan pretty much on time at about 7 am this morning. Captain George had announced (In the rooms) at 11pm last night that we would be just over an hour late due to sea conditions but this morning at 7.15am (also in the room!) that we had announced that we had made up the time over night and we could go ashore.

Having woken earlier than planned we headed to Bergan at around 9am though most of the shops were not due to open until 10am.

Having spent a lovely morning in Bergen and spent far too much money in the shops we decided we were tired and head back to the ship. With three crusie ships in town it had started to get very crowded and we felt Sushi on Five a better bet for lunch than fighting the crowds in town for a table.

There was a sail away party from the Retraet Sun deck ( There was also a Concierge Sail away on the Helipad). It was a bit grey but we stayed for half an hour or so. With cocktails and blankets we were quite comfee😎

Bye bye Norway... well until October any way . We are on The Queen Victoria for a slightly longer cruise to the Northern lights then . We're in a Q2 so the Cunard equivalent of a Royal suite  so I will have to post a comparison. Not sure whether here or on the Cunard boards?

The Asian Pear Smash is my favorite drink!  They put such a large piece of ice in them I usually have 2 or 3 with lunch!  Last month we ate lunch there almost every day.

Enjoying your posts. Agree with World Class Bar for the best drinks with real limes and lemons!

Years ago we did a Celebrity Solstice cruise back when they had the Molecular Bar which was the predecessor to WCB. Had the chance to sit one night with the Molecular Bar creator, Junior Merino, and talk mixology. Many of the drinks were made with liquid nitrogen. His most famous drink was Coming Up Roses.

We love Cunard but do miss the all inclusive drinks. When paying for the package separately it seems expensive psychologically.

I was about to make our pre dinner drinks at 6 o’clock last night when I noticed out the window that we seemed to have come to a halt. Captain George then came on the tannoy in the room and said we had a medical emergency and had come to a stop to await a helicopter for a medevac arriving in 30 minutes. Not I am afraid a nice end for someone’s cruise.

We did pop up to the retreat sun deck to see the helicopter and while I did video the whole event I am only proposing to post pictures of the crew being landed and the helicoptor leaving.

One slight downside that might impact some passengers is that because of the hour or so delay while the evacuation took place Captain George announced we will not get to Southampton until 8am tomorrow.

Last night Ananas In the Retreat surpassed himself with a perfect Bitter Margarita.

I’m actually enjoying the Retreat Lounge more this cruise than the WCB on our last few cruises. I think the higher capacity with a nearly full ship has made the RL a more attractive sanctuary from the crowds around the bars. Pre pandemic crowds would not have worried me as much and the cruises we did last summer with less than 50% capacity were fine but in this new world I am starting to value my space.

Lower deposits and usually a bit of on board credit. It pays to check the prices on Celebrity before boarding so you know if you are or aren't getting a better deal.

Also if you booked the current cruise through a travel agent any onboard booking will automatically go to that agent. If you don't want this to happen just tell the FC Staff and they will give you a form to sign to stop it. They also have different prices and conditions for US/Canadian residents. You can also book Royal and I assume now Silversea.

groryjm,

Have you heard that B2B testing has been suspended?
I’ve read on SociaI Media, that someone on Silhouette, has had their appointment cancelled.

I just heard from a couple of friends who are on this cruise and B2Bing to the next Fjords one too . They have just been told they DO NOT NEED TO TEST for their second leg. I gather from the lady at future cruises i spoke to that this is for all UK sailings not sure if it applies when travelling to countries that require tests but Norway doesn't or the UK.

I have just booked a CS for Oct 2023 and the price was as per the current offer but my deposit was only £237 and we gained an extra $400 OBC. So have $1200 in total for that cruise 😎

I have tried to confirm what I heard on board from the future cruise person but no one in authority seems to know but I can confirm the requirement for B2B cruisers to test seems to have been lifted.

I will however keep my appointments at the moment, until it is put on the Celebrity web site( which recently has changed daily).

We are on Reflection in 8 weeks and as it is a fly to cruise we are going the day before and staying over night in Civi. We currently need to test the day before we fly to get into Italy but also need to need to test the day before we cruise. When we are in Civi!

We have fond memories of a couple we met and dined with in Blu over a B2B2B. They always asked that breakfast be served without the similar 'garnish' but somehow they always pronounced it 'garbage'.
