luv2ndhalf Posted May 5, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2022 And yet another covid question…. Are all passengers being tested for covid if the cruise is longer than 7 days? I’m just trying to put more pieces together in these ever changing times- I’ve read so many different things it’s hard to decipher what is factual- thanks! canderson Posted May 5, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2022 No automatic tests aboard for >7 days. No. The issue of the CDC and longer cruises (which were a no-no, along with B2B that would last more than 7 together) ceased to be an issue quite some time ago.
canderson Posted May 5, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2022 In fact, someone just reported that Royal has stopped testing pax between legs of B2B cruises as has been the practice all along - each cruise being treated separately. Perhaps Celebrity will follow.

Does this include international sailings too?

There may still be specific ports that have testing requirements or documents to be filled out pre-arrival during the time you plan to travel, which can get a bit messy. Best thing is to keep up with this web page, paying attention to the rules that govern your particular itinerary / ports of call: https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/travel It's a moving target at present, especially for Europe. Northern Aurora Posted May 5, 2022 #6 Share Posted May 5, 2022 I just departed the Eclipse after a 11 night. cruise from Vancouver, BC to Hawaii. While B2B passengers were tested the day before turnaround day there was other routine passenger testing.
canderson Posted May 5, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 5, 2022 That web page has become far more detailed, and seems to be being kept up to date better than it once was, though it has always been more up to date than most other sources of info from Celebrity. As an example, Celebrity is trying to project what testing requirements will exist clear out to the end of the year for many itineraries. A lot of that, of course, is subject to change over the months ahead. But here's an example for our 13nt Barcelona to FLL TA in November 22. It shows that as 'up to date' (boosterized) individuals, we need the standard pre-cruise test, one for one of the ports of call (will have to look up to see which one) and one to land again in FLL. I think most all of the pages have a button you can select to get a *.pdf chart for cruises for your itinerary.

Rare cruisestitch Posted May 5, 2022 #10 Share Posted May 5, 2022 They do not do routine passenger testing. Celebrity has only been testing back to back passengers so they could go onto the next cruise. cru, on the other hand, have been tested every seven days on a routine basis. But not passengers
Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 5, 2022 #11 Share Posted May 5, 2022 Celebrity is not testing at the end of the cruise except (currently as RC dropped) B2B's. There is always the possibility that if you fall in the 270 day window from last of the initial 2 shots and not boosted you may need to test multiple times dependent on country visited or final destination.
