Rare aring75 Posted May 6, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2022 Heading out tomorrow for back-to-back Mariner cruises. First leg goes to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao (with four glorious sea days bookending those great stops!). Then we turn around and head out to Bermuda with stops in Nassau and Coco Cay. Rare aring75 Posted May 6, 2022 Author #2 Share Posted May 6, 2022 COVID tests were relatively simple. Did the eMed proctored tests. Mark says he wasn’t worried about his test results at all. But he sure looked relieved when the negative test results came through. 7
Rare aring75 Posted May 6, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted May 6, 2022 Have plans for Jaime’s lunch on boarding day. Also, will make a couple of specialty dinner reservations after we board so we can use the D+ bogo. Booked the Taste of Royal lunch (first leg) and the Sushi & Sake lunch (second leg) since we’ve never done either of these before. We’ll see. We have a snorkeling tour in Aruba, but I just received word last night that our tour in Bonaire was cancelled. Might book something else after we get on the ship. But we love to just walk around Curaçao and have lunch overlooking the water. We’ve never been to Bermuda, but booked one tour. Then we will visit Pearl Island in Nassau and play it by ear on Coco Cay. It’s been around 10-12 years since we were on Mariner, so I’m looking forward to seeing how she’s held up. Hmmm…I’m guessing probably better than I have in 12 years. 😩 5

Cruisin_FL_Girl Posted May 6, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2022 Hello Aring75! I don't know if you remember me but we met on the Celebrity Equinox cruise last year (I'm Kathy and I was sailing with my sister Marguerite). We're on the 2nd cruise, the Bermuda cruise with you guys! Small world right? We haven't been to any of these ports so we are looking forward to this trip too. Also, this will be our first Royal Caribbean cruise after two with Celebrity, so we can't wait to compare the two lines. I'm sure we'll love it!! Maybe we'll see you on board! Have a great cruise!

Hi Kathy! I do remember you guys. But for some reason I thought your sisters’ name was Anna. Hopefully I’m remembering the right sisters! Do you still like those espresso martinis? 😁 Glad to hear you’ll be joining us for Bermuda. Should be great!

Cruisin_FL_Girl Posted May 6, 2022 #11 Share Posted May 6, 2022 Good memory. Yes, my sister goes by Anna our grandmother name was Marguerite. She says is makes her feel old! Plus she thinks it’s crazy that mom named her Marguerite A. You know, Marguerit-a. Like she’s an alcoholic beverage. Ha ha! I can’t wait to see if Royal Caribbean’s espresso martinis are as good as the Martini Bar!
Rare aring75 Posted May 7, 2022 Author #12 Share Posted May 7, 2022 It’s Cruise Day! Drove from the Tampa area to Port Canaveral stopping for breakfast along the way. Nice, easy two-ish hour drive. 3
Rare aring75 Posted May 7, 2022 Author #13 Share Posted May 7, 2022 Our boarding time was 11:30 am. Arrived at Port Canaveral at 11. PC is a little different from some other terminals. Here (at Terminal 1), you drive into the parking garage first floor to drop your luggage. Then, they will direct you to parking. For us, it was the open lot next door to the garage. You pay for parking at the time of arrival.

Rare aring75 Posted May 7, 2022 Author #16 Share Posted May 7, 2022 We have a spacious ocean view balcony on deck 9. Luckily, we have the same cabin for both cruises (yay!). Not sure about storage space yet. Lots of drawers and hidden cubbies. But closet seems a little small. It has shelves though. That’s nice.
Rare aring75 Posted May 7, 2022 Author #17 Share Posted May 7, 2022 Bathroom is pretty standard. There’s shampoo/body wash (2 in 1) in the shower. And these are on the counter.
Rare aring75 Posted May 7, 2022 Author #18 Share Posted May 7, 2022 Two 120V outlets and one 230V at the desk. Plus, the dedicated “shaver” outlet in the bathroom ceiling. Aaand it’s upside-down. Sorry. You have to shave standing on your head. Best of luck. 1
Rare aring75 Posted May 7, 2022 Author #19 Share Posted May 7, 2022 There’s four hooks on the back of the bathroom door. And another two hooks of to the side. There’s also a clothes line in the bathroom shower.

Rare aring75 Posted May 7, 2022 Author #22 Share Posted May 7, 2022 I ordered the crispy calamari. It was terrible. I had it on Anthem and Symphony. Both good. This was chewy and rubbery. Mark got the garlicky prawns. These were delicious. He also tried the arugula and Parmesan salad.
