How do you find out if you have DOU while in the casino prior to your cruise?

On our upcoming Alaskan cruise (leave in less than 2 weeks) we have a pretty low rate which leads me to believe that it was a casino rate. However, I can't recall as it has been awhile since I booked and and I booked through a TA. I think my TA is already in Europe on the Pride so I don't want to bother her as I think she is going on B2B2B, etc. for almost the entire summer.  Does it appear on your booking or is it noted somewhere else what rate you booked under?  Is it somewhere on the website?

I think you can call the Carnival reservation line and ask.  I know when I called to upgrade our room, they said "oh!  You have a casino rate, I'll have to transfer you over to them." (I didn't know I had one.)

You can go to the Ocean Players Club site and click contact us. Then follow the link for "verify casino offer".

This is what I do, sometimes it takes a few days for them to respond but they always do.

For future cruises, what I do is save the offer email in the same folder as the cabin confirmation email.  That way I always know which offer I used.  It only took me 3 or 4 emails to OPC to think of doing that! 😁

I agree (I do something similar) - after learning the hard way, I have started saving screen shot of what is included with each offer since they can vary so much (with FunPlay, OBC, drinks in the casino, drinks everywhere, sometimes for a companion also, etc).

Sorry, I know that doesn't help OP now.  This is one area Carnival really needs to improve, this info should be available under "Booking and Order Details" but it's not (I've spent a lot of time looking).

I have been waiting 2 weeks since I sent OPC my request for conformation of my offer. I have been told by Carnival customer care that I have a casino rate 01M or O1M. Can’t find info anywhere. We just signed in and looked up offers under my VIFP, never got a special email with offer ….so nothing to save. Have no way to prove it to casino manager.

I usually get a response within three days, resend your email to the OPC.

I hardly ever used the email offers.  I usually just search the cruises with with VIFP offers & extra savings filter selected.  Usually seems better than any of my email offers, so I don't really know what offer I use.

My cruise isn't for 6 months, but I am now putting all my docs together and doing final planning, I emailed them to ask about my exact offer to have in writing.

Here was their response:

Hi David,

We Thank You for sending in this request.

We are trying our best to respond to each of your requests as soon as possible. We see you are asking to verify for a casino comp on sailing later on this year. We ask if you could send in this request closer to your sailing date at that time we will be able to validate your casino offer.

We thank you for your patience and we look forward to welcoming you on board in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

I would email again and put 2nd request please answer. You shouldn't have to but it worked for me. Have a great cruise!

Maybe it's my because of my rating with the casino, but I get responses from Oceans Players Club in 48 hours or less. When I'm in a more time sensitive situation or emergency,  which occurred with an Elite sailing last month for example... I call my PVP.   He then pings Carnival's Casino department and an executive host from reaches out to me immediately via text to handle any request or question I have.

Are you sure you're inputting your info correctly to the submission form at the Players Club? It shouldn't take them that long to verify your offer code with tour booking.

  • 3 weeks later...

It took them three weeks to get back to me after my second request.
This is the vague answer they gave me…making it sound like I “may” get free drinks depending on my play.

“We are glad to hear you are sailing with us again and we apologize for the late response.

Our records indicate you claimed a casino Exclusive offer aboard the Carnival Legend 08/20/2022. We have extended a significant discount towards your booking on this voyage. You have also qualified for the Drinks On Us valid for your personal use while playing in the casino.

Additional casino comps cannot be combined at this time. On your cruise, our Casino staff will provide you with onboard comps based on your level of play.

Should there be any changes made on the booking in the future, only the promotion that was last applied will be extended to you onboard.”

We look forward to welcoming you aboard!

Based on this email you booked a casino rate with drinks in the casino for you (not your travel companion).

Agreed with Archie -- it says in that e-mail that you've "qualified" for that already.

Offer O1M qualifies for free drinks for the person who received the offer while they're actively playing in the casino. Additionally, the non-refundable deposit you put down for the cruise will be on-board credit on your trip.

O1M offer details:

Yes, those with higher casino status get thru.

I have been having an issue lately with my cruise offers. I keep getting emails with the offer rate code OWV which I’ve booked under in the past without any issues. However in the past month when I get the email and log into my offers that offer isn’t showing up. When it happened the first time I figured the offer expired. However I got the offer email  again yesterday and it’s not showing in my offers. I messaged my PVP and he said he could check specific sailings for me to see if it applies. I would refer to be able to see the offer and check random sailings I may be interested in. Would this be something I could call Carnival and ask to be transferred to the casino dept?  Thanks for any input.
