Something I don’t understand, we were on 1st and 2 nd legs on the Onward and this bathroom  was locked because on maintenance, I don’t think this picture should have been on Cruise Critic as it wasn’t opened to public.

I was looking for those photos to post the same thing, that the bathroom was closed when we were on board but I can’t find them now.

Honestly, I don't think it's worth any time being concerned over that one video review.  More reports are coming out.  I've yet to speak to my friends first hand to understand the issues, but the maiden is over and time to move on.  If there were still issues in a month's time then I'd be concerned.

Has everyone received the email offering a cruise credit equivalent to the amount paid for the maiden voyage?

I got that email but not sure how the credit will apply.  Does it go into my online account?

I am booked for 4  June on Onward and getting slightly concerned about all the issues being referred to. Can someone clarify what major issues are with the ship?

There was more positivity then negativity.  Take it for what it is.  My only issue was the confusion going to Ravenna, but it was understandable because of the Italian government changing plans on Azamara.  But I thought everything was great on board.  Some testy people but they look like the type that just love to complain about the stupidest things.  One lady was yelling at a waiter complaining the the windows were dirty.  They had water spots on them.  Oh brother.  And the poor waiter had to take it.

I think there should be a zero tolerance policy and anyone yelling at the staff should be escorted off the ship at the next port 😡

Thank you. This is reassuring.

We've been considering Amazara for a while. Thank you for this thread and feedback. Today, we put a hold on a cabin for a 10-night Eastern Caribbean cruise in December. We've been to all these places before, but since we live in Florida it's an easy and inexpensive way to give Azamara a try before booking a more extensive (and expensive) cruise with Azamara.

I’m not sure how we’ll get it. We want to book a cruise for August but as it’s within final payment date we won’t book until we receive the credit.

Original email says we will be notified by email within 30 days, if it follows what we received after having a fully paid cruise cancelled early in the pandemic we should get FCC numbers to quote when booking. Of course if you booked through a travel agent it might go to them.

I’m still wondering about the definition of year, is it book within a year or will it be take a cruise within a year.

Also there’s no mention of the FCC offered when Venice was changed to Ravenna.

That's an important definition and you need to clarify. Up to know for me it's always book within a year, but take the cruise further out if necessary, but this was for using Azamara Circle free nights. I can't see why it should be different here, but assume nothing! Haha

Interesting thought about The FCC for the change to Ravenna.  Completely forgot about.  Was that just for Onward or for all cruises that had a change?

I think it was for all the cruises that were changed.

We were given a letter saying we would have a FCC when our cruise finished in Ravenna instead of Venice in April.   We booked a cruise for 2023 onboard but the Future Cruise Consultant did not know how or when this would be applied.  Certainly doesnt show on our booking form.

If I’ve got a few hours to spare might phone Wichita and try to find out.

I think just for Onward as it was such short notice.  Also you had to have purchased your cruise before the switch.

Ours was Quest departure 23 April  and we also received the notification for  fcc . It was for all ships who had the port changed. The amount of fcc offered depends on future cabin booked.
Yes original booking was to have been  made before the change of port news.

We were on the same cruise and it was lovely to meet you.  The FCC was offered in a letter and I assumed that the amount was dependent on the cruise that finished in Ravenna rather than the new cruise booked.  We were successful in bidding for a Continental Suite on our cruise in April but assumed that the FCC amount would be given according to the cabin we booked originally.

Of course we have now been seduced by the lovely CC suites and have booked a 14 day Spain intensive next year in a CC suite.  So we may possibly get the amount ($500) which applies to the new booking ?

@MrsMiggins

Maybe it was wishful thinking, but I too read it as the amount dependent on the sailing that was impacted. However  when I spoke to the Future Cruise guy onboard he said the credit was for the category of the new booking. To be fair, it didn’t  matter what cabin we sailed in, we were all impacted to the same degree. It will be good to hear from anyone who gets the news first!

yes ,once you get that upgrade to CC   they've got you!

“All guests who want to continue sailing with Bologna, (Ravenna) as their new homeport will get a Future Cruise Credit of $250 per stateroom for insides and oceanviews, $300 for verandas, and $500 for suites. This Future Cruise Credit can be redeemed on a new Azamara voyage.”

For the Oct. 6 Journey cruise starting in Venice Ravenna, my offer was clearly for OBC on that very cruise:

Keep your reservation on our new 12-Night Adriatic Wonders Voyage, still departing on October 6th and returning on October 18th. If you select this option, we will honor your original or prorated rate, whichever is lowest. Plus, you'll receive a $250 onboard credit if you have booked a standard stateroom or a $500 onboard credit if you have booked a suite.

I have already received the extra OBC in my Cruise Planner for the impacted cruise.

When did you receive this information from Azamara?  Was it by email from Azamara or from your travel agent?  Was it before final payment?  We are also on an Azamara cruise in October that was switched from Venice to Ravenna.  I have not received anything about this.  Thank you!

It was an email that I received [direct from Azamara, even though I booked through a TA] on April 26 – containing a formal letter on letterhead with the offer.  This was before final payment, so they had an incentive to keep us from taking the other option (full refund to original form of payment plus up to $500 in non-refundable costs).

The option to stay on also included refund of "up to $500 per person for non-refundable Airfare/Hotel/Private Tour changes for Domestic travel in Europe and $1,000 per person for non-refundable Airfare/Hotel/Private Tour changes for international travel to Europe."

Hi Jazzbeau

Was this obc offered because this was the cruise that was extended earlier this year by a day and it was a sweetener  to keep you booked because of the hassle?

Possibly a separate issue from the fcc being offered due to change of port?
Did you also receive notification of the fcc offered for that ?
