Tea Snob Posted June 3, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2022 Keeping our fingers crossed. We do not have a cruise until March 2023 and hope (fingers and toes crossed) that nothing else pops up next year.

No other country requires you to test and to be negative before you fly there? No other country in the whole world? Really?

The others, they may not matter to them... LOL bon voyage 1
iancal Posted June 6, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 6, 2022 (edited) We had to have an Antigen lab test 24 hours or less prior to boarding our TAP flight to Lisbon in late May. Hardly a big deal. We went to the pharmacy and had the test the morning of our flight. Prices for the test ranged from $15-30 USD pp depending on the the pharmacy. We had no issue with it whatsoever. Portugal is wise to insist on this. Same for when we fly to the US. We do not view it as particularly onerous. When there is easy, low-cost access to quick tests, it's one thing. When testing is slow, expensive and/or cumbersome, that's another. How would you feel if the pricing was over $150 per person rather than $15? Have a chat with folks that have dealt with the latter category - you might be enlightened.

We could have paid $200. For the three day test. We also did our research and did not get stuck paying for last minute in airport tests. Both were offered in most places where we live. We know people who opted for the $200 option when both we offered. For some reason they complained even though the choice was theirs. the thing is we knew the requirements for Portugal. We made the decision knowing that. We were also considering Greece with no test. We know that, at the present time, if we want to travel to the US we will need test. for us it is a travel cost. No different than the cost of a visa to enter Turkey, Cambodia, Thailand, etc. Edited June 6, 2022 by iancal 1
RickT Posted June 6, 2022 #10 Share Posted June 6, 2022 In case people haven’t noticed the pandemic isn’t over. Even though restrictions are being removed Covid cases are very high. The only saving grace is hospitalizations are generally down. 1

Everyone is wearing masks indoors and in public transport.
