Totally Hearsay Thoughts on Breeze

Recommended Posts

My grandson and his wife just returned from a Breeze cruise, their first.  Said they loved the cove balcony, the Serenity Deck, the Piano Bar, and scuba diving in Cozumel.  Also quite fond of the on-board Pina Coladas.  Said they had a great time.

He didn't mention any negatives and I didn't ask.

They never sailed pre-covid so had no comparisons to make.

Thought I would post the reactions of two blue cards for what it's worth.

Happy Sailing.

We have been on the Breeze, Dream and Magic  as well as many others including the Mardi Gras.  It is still my favourite class of ship !!!

^^^This. It would IMO be hard to have a bad cruise on a Dream class.

Glad they had a great time for their first cruise!

Definitely a Dreamer.  I always worry about the Thur - Mon Breeze cruises out of Galveston because they can often be a 4-day drunk for a lot of folks.  We took kids and grandkids on a 7-day on the Breeze over New Years.  Although they were missing a lot of the entertainment staff due to Covid, still had a great time. Glad your grandson and wife had a good time.

Breeze (and Magic) are 2 of our favorites (we are on Mardi Gras for our next 2 upcoming cruises so that may change) so no surprise there!  We love this class and is our go to normally and a great place for a newbie to start cruising.  That being said, if they go again and dont book this class or higher they will need to manage expectations of the smaller, older ships as they may have a much different experience (but will learn what they like and what they dont).

So glad to hear they enjoyed the Breeze.  We sail on both the Breeze and Dream because of the ease of getting to Galveston.  We drive down the night before because living in Texas means we don't need to worry about flight schedules.  The service is always excellent, and the layout of these ships is easy to remember.  We always enjoy the food and usually enjoy some special dining venues.   We also look forward to using the Thalassotherapy pool and loungers on both of these ships. During the most-recent cruise in May on the Breeze, we really enjoyed the Breeze band, Ebano strings (violins) and Scott Lucille (solo guitarist).  I especially needed the May cruise to be a relaxing one which may be why we sat and enjoyed the music groups in the Ocean Plaza area a little more than usual.  The layout of the smoke-free casino on the Breeze is a little different than on the Dream and I seem to prefer the Dream's best.  Overall, we enjoy the Dream class of ships and have not tired of cruising on either the Breeze or the Dream.  We are branching out in early 2023 by sailing out of another port, but I believe the Breeze, Dream and Port of Galveston will be our "go-to" options.

Thanks for letting me "chime in" on this thread about the Breeze.

Have only been on the Triumph, Magic and Breeze.  For me, no T-Pool means no Cruise for me.

My granddaughter's third cruise was on the Breeze.  After her first time in the T-pool she commented it took cruising to a whole new level.

I've been on Ecstacy, Breeze and Magic and just came off the Horizon.  The Ecstacy had me not wanting to ever cruise again (this was 2015).  Breeze and Magic totally changed my mind and made me realize that I needed to be on a larger ship with more options.  I absolutely loved the Breeze but now I think that the Horizon may have taken it's place.

Glad to hear that your family enjoyed the Breeze!

We've sailed on both Breeze and Magic, and have an upcoming one on Magic.  We really like those ships - just big enough to have lots of amenities, so if you feel the smaller ships don't have enough, but also don't like the megaships (Mardi Gras for now), they might be "just big enough".

We also like the layout of the deck 5 walk-around outside deck, and the location of Alchemy, Red Frog Pub, and Piano Bar.

I will say that having been on Mardi Gras most recently, we might feel like we are short a bit on the unique cocktail bars (we really liked the Brass Magnolia on MG) - but might also be because Alchemy is not located in a "great" spot on MG, IMHO.  The location on Magic/Breeze is great (for us) - near the music/activities of Ocean Plaza, but not right on the main thoroughfare (like it is on MG).  And if we feel like a beer, we just slip on down to the Red Frog Pub next door.

I do want to try out a Vista class ship eventually.  Maybe try the Vista itself when it moves to Port Canaveral late next year (our "local" port).

The Breeze is my second-favorite ship right behind the Mardi Gras, so it makes me so happy to hear that newbies loved her just as much as I do!

I really love the Dream class of ships, as well as the Conquest class of ships. The Vista class are my least favorite by far ... but I could be convinced to like them if somehow the Panorama gets moved to New Orleans in the future.

The Dream class is my favorite still. Like the size and the spa is easily the best.  Was surprised by how much I liked the Panorama which was most recent, the spa was MUCH better than the dungeon spa on Mardi Gras with no windows, super small impractical T-pool. I loved the shows and many dining choices on the Mardi Gras but 5 cruises on her already and I’m done with her.

Dang!  That's not a bad run for a ship that's been in service less than a year!  I doubt I'll sail on her 5 times in the rest of my life...
