No smoking casino on Joy?

Hi…. Read somewhere that after the Joy refurb that the casino was exactly like Bliss….  So does that mean they

have the glassed in smoking casino within the no smoking casino like Bliss does?

Yes....and the smell in the enclosed Joy casino is bad enuf to keep the non-smokers out.

There is a glass enclosed smoking casino room at the aft port side of the casino. You can only smoke in there when the casino is open.

I don’t smoke, thank goodness, but just was hoping that the smoking area really is behind closed glass doors.  I sailed Bliss and I do recall how strong the smell is in there

January 2022 on the Bliss, no smoking at all in casino areas, have no idea if this has changed.  At time it was due to Covid, that is what was posted

Yes, but the door to the non-smoking casino, and bigger door to the main hall are open a lot with people going in and out.

Just off the Joy and I can confirm that there is an enclosed smoking area with quite a few machines and several tables. We found it unbelievable that every single night, there were non-smokers in there actually complaining about players who smoked. Ridiculous.

The Bliss was the first ship casino where I could tolerate being there at peak times.  Of course, in December, we were about 40% capacity, which was nice, but perhaps more importantly the smoking area was enclosed.  The smoke on other ships was so bothersome that I wouldn't dream of trying to play in the evening.  In some cases, even being in the general area of the casino was problematic (I'm looking at you, BA.)  If the Joy is anything close to the Bliss, I'll be there quite a bit on my October cruise.

Yes….that’s funny…. But it was the same when I was on Bliss.  People went in and then complained about the smoke in there🤷
 

they did have a great $5.00 Ultimate Holdem table in there …and not in the non smoking part, which drew them in….

Oddly, wearing an active charcoal mask when in the casino might be the only time I actually enjoy wearing a mask.  But I always hate the way my clothes smell after spending any decent amount of time in a casino.

We went on the Joy in December and LOVED how it was set off from the rest of the casino. It was so much better. The way the 678 casino/atrium/chandelier space is so open means that smoke permeates everything when the casino is so stinky (probably will avoid breakaway again for this reason). Went on a Royal ship which had a smoking casino last week, but it was on deck 4 and not a main area like NCL ships-if it's going to be a main area it needs to be sealed off like the Joy is.
