Amsterdam airport transfer

Will be traveling the first week of August on the Connie.....

We have a transfer in Amsterdam, can you tell me what the procedure is once you get off the plane...do you go right to your next flight?

Do you mean you change planes in Amsterdam? If u are coming from us you will have to clear customs

we are flying Delta.  we arrive at 7:45 a.m.   with a 9:15 departure to Venice.

It has been awhile since we have gone through Amsterdam....If memory serves me correctly, this was fairly seemless....then again, this is SUCH DIFFERENT TIMES!

You will have to go through Passport control as you progress to your connecting gate - read the signage and you should not have a problem.  At the moment lines can be long so I suggest you head straight to your gate without stopping to admire the very beautiful airport.

Amsterdam is like most other countries.    If Amsterdam is your first port of call into the EU you will have to clear immigration  into the EU.  After immigration you just make your way to your connecting flight  you  Your luggage is sent to your final destination where you clear customs usually using the Red / Green lane system.

Not true.  You clear customs at your end destination.

 

You will clear immigration.

 

Big difference.

You will clear immigration into the Schengen Zone.  Different than the EU.

No security check if coming from the US as it is considered a safe country.

wow...thanks for all your assistance in this matter!!! As I stated earlier, we have been to Amsterdam numerous times...just wanted to refresh my memory

Any other nugget of knowledge you can pas along, would be greatly appreciated.....
