It's a been awhile-Upcoming Magic Cruise

Hey all, TIA for indulging my questions.  I haven't cruised on Carnival in at least 8 years.  DH and I have an 8 nt. coming up on the Magic out of NYC on Aug. 3.

Yes, I've tried using the search tool-it just overwhelms me.

Questions:

1.  Is there is still mid-week all you can stuff in a bag laundry for roughly $30?  I recognize it might not be $30 any longer.

2.  We have CHEERS pkg.  Am I correct in thinking it is not activated while in NYC?  Starts on day 2?

3.  We have a Spa Balcony cabin-any perks you remember as being available to this cabin level?

4.  Does this ship have MUTS?

5.  Is it possible(sidewalks/pedestrian path) to walk to/from public transportation to cruiseport in NYC(like 50th Street Station)?  We travel light and are very fit.

Happy Cruising!

I'm sailing on the Magic August 15, for a 7 night Bermuda itenerary. I can answer #2... I have "Free Drinks Everywhere" as part of my casino package and it will not begin until the 1st Sea Day (The casino department buys the Cheers package for the guest and renames it). Cheers will begin your 1st sea day.

Yes that correct and this information is on carnival website

Yes that is possible and is doable. Keep in the mind that the blocks is very long and the nearest subway station is around 50th st and 8th ave on the C/E line.

Just off Magic 2 weeks ago.

1.  I did not see any laundry special advertised on daily planner on hub app, or on paper copy I got at Guest Services.  A flyer and bag might be left on your bed - we get free unlimited laundry, so we did not see anything.

2.  As others have said, cheers will not begin the day you board.  You can pay for your own drink if you want on that day.

3.  Can't help you with spa balcony as we had regular balcony.

4.  Yes, there is seaside theater - we watched the most recent Spiderman.  Popcorn is now $3 a bag.

5.  Yes, it is walkable to the port if you wish to do so.  Sidewalks aplenty.

Have a great cruise.

We had a Spa Balcony and I would suggest RUN to the Spa counter and ask for your "free" spa gift.  I asked for it at the end of the cruise and was told they had "run out".  Considering they should have a spa gift for each spa cabin and know the number of cabins to prepare for, I found this odd.  The gift was a loofah mitt and a small jar of scrub.

Other perks, I took two exercise classes for free.  We used the warm tile chairs with a view of the ocean a couple times. Very relaxing!  My DH loved the bubbly pool (I'm sensitive to heat) and used that almost everyday. I liked the slippers that were provided to go wrapped in my robe and pad from my cabin to the spa area.

Have a great cruise!!

We were on the splendor and if i remember correctly they offer the full bag for $15.  I am pretty sure this is for anyone who wants to do laundry at any time.

Access to the spa thermal suite is the best perk, slightly nicer robes, slippers, and upgraded bedding.  They used to supply a linen spray for the bedding but we haven't gotten a spa room in a while so i  don't know if they still do that.

As someone else mentioned, you will also get a little jar of scrub/loofah at the spa desk if you ask.

I don't know what this is ;-).

HI

I am on the same cruise.

Its been 8 years since I been on Carnival. I have taken others lines out of NY. I will take a train to Penn Station and depending upon time and weather

1) Walk ( about an hour, I am a slow walker😬)

2) Take a taxi ($13-15 Plus tip)

3) Take the M20 on 8 TH to 49th ST and M50 on 49th ST to 12th AVE. The ship will be 1 street south or 2 streets north of bus stop depending on the pier being used. The M50 bus stop is west of 8TH toward 9 TH.

See you on board.
