martinitime1 Posted July 30, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2022 We have a good amount of OBC on our 16 day T/A. Quick question, what can you NOT use OBC for on the ship?
Thrak Posted July 30, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2022 You can use it for anything you like. Yes, Princess will tell you that some OBC can't be used in the Casino but I've never had a problem doing so. Basically, your OBC goes into a "pot" in your folio and anything you purchase comes out of that pot. Pre-cruise you can use OBC to book excursions but that's the only thing you can use it for pre-cruise.
katisdale Posted July 30, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2022 If you want to book a future cruise or put down a deposit for a cruise at a later date, it can't be used for that.

My wife has more OBC due to her getting the shareholder credit. Does it matter who does the transaction or does the OBC truly go into a pot for the cabin as a whole? You each will have charges and there will be a summary invoice that will net all credits and debits. So if your wife ends up with a net credit that will net against any debit balance you may have. Now here is the wrinkle. When pre-booking excursions you can use OBC, but you can only use your OBC. You have to contact Princess to cross use for pre-booked excursions

skynight Posted July 30, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 30, 2022 By the way, you can follow the accounts each day on the app to see the balances.

That will be great, was used to getting the printout at the kiosk. Edited July 30, 2022 by martinitime1

You have to contact Princess to cross use for pre-booked excursions Note that this applies only if you use the same credit card. One of you will be listed as the owner of the credit card and the other one will be listed as an authorized user. Then the folios are combined. To clarify the second paragraph, you can pre-book excursions using the other passengers OBC by calling Princess. Any Princess telephone representative can handle this, even though some of them don't seem to know how.

Bwana Tom Posted August 1, 2022 #11 Share Posted August 1, 2022 I would strongly recommend a hard copy of your account statement on the final day of your cruise particularly if you have any refundable credit due back to you. Princess has been reducing that amount to many of us, including me on my March 2022 cruise by the seemingly typical of 25%. I have been challenging that reduction, but so far I haven't made in progress. It is always good to have a firm and solid record to refer to just in case you find yourself joining those of us that seem to being cheated out of what is due us.
