bala girl Posted March 3, 2006 #26 Share Posted March 3, 2006 I've been getting the same message since last August. I'll bet if they found some grade school kids, they'd be able to fix it. Or ask their sister company Princess - they have it right.
Lucyt1207 Posted March 3, 2006 #27 Share Posted March 3, 2006 I just got off the phone with a HAL reservation specialist, who actually put me on hold for several minutes to ask her supervisor. Unfortunately, the news is not great...they cannot "rush" or "speed-up" the overhaul of the computer system...but they are fairly confident that it will be up and running before my 4/15 cruise on the O'dam...however, if it is not, then I will have to print them, if possible, and bring it to the pier...or (worst case scenario) get them at the pier and fill them out there. I hope they are able to fix the system...waiting on lines at the pier is like chinese water torture...the ship so close, and yet, so far!!

Aussie Gal Posted March 3, 2006 #30 Share Posted March 3, 2006 Loungee1043, How did you manage to print out the Immigration Form when one cannot get into the system to see it? Please point me in the right direction. Princess has got it right as they have the alphabet booking system for a long time and it is so easy to access your booking etc. on their website. OldCodger73 Posted March 4, 2006 #32 Share Posted March 4, 2006 Loungee1043, How did you manage to print out the Immigration Form when one cannot get into the system to see it? Please point me in the right direction. Go to the Immigration page on the HAL website and near the bottom of the page it says "click here to view blank Immigration Form (requires Adobe Acrobat)." When you click on the link a .pdf file will be downloaded to your computer, which you can then print out.

Nasmas Posted March 4, 2006 Author #34 Share Posted March 4, 2006 I booked an excursion today with no problems, our third so far, so that part was working this morning. I was also of the opinion that filling out the form online or directly from the dockets packet made no difference. The important issue is to do your paper work ahead of time, either way. I also think HAL does not send your completed form, done online, to the boarding gate. Don No, they dont' send it to the boarding gate but it is on the computer there, because our last cruise, they had our passport #s screwed up. It only took a minute to fix it, but it was there on the computer.
gwilli Posted March 6, 2006 #35 Share Posted March 6, 2006 Tried it again today and it didn't work. I don't leave until June, so I'll try again in a week or so. If anyone does get connected, please let us know! It would be nice to cross another thing off my list! Happy sailing .................................... PrincessYoga Posted March 6, 2006 #36 Share Posted March 6, 2006 The form is working....Yipee!!! Although I still haven't quite worked out how to fill it out since I have 2 passports (and have been told 2 things about what passport to use) and won't have an temporary American address since we aren't going to America. i am so confused
lougee1043 Posted March 6, 2006 #37 Share Posted March 6, 2006 The form is working do you mean the ability to complete the immigration form on line or to print out a copy------i just tried to do mine on line with no success
PrincessYoga Posted March 6, 2006 #38 Share Posted March 6, 2006 I just meant that I got it up on the screen. i haven't been able to do that. I didn't try to fill it out. I can't do that until my mother send me my booking number and I figure out if this is the right form and what passport/address info to put in. Holland America told me one thing and the group's travel agent said something else.
jhannah Posted March 6, 2006 #39 Share Posted March 6, 2006 We're 54 days from sailing and still get the sixty days message. And I still haven't had a response to my e-mail to HAL.
mr green Posted March 6, 2006 #40 Share Posted March 6, 2006 No, it's not up yet. If it was a new 'Pay On Line' System', it would be up and running in 24 hours! john
CJC Posted March 6, 2006 #41 Share Posted March 6, 2006 I just called ship services and tried to get a Pinnacle Grill res. Said they couldn't do it because I have the new booking number. Neither could they take any orders of any kind for on-board service or gifts. Not to mention can't obviously do the immigration form. Was told to try again at the end of March. Last month I was told it would be ready by the 1st of March. I don't count on it being ready at the end of March either. This blows.
mr green Posted March 8, 2006 #42 Share Posted March 8, 2006 Have just been on my Statendam Thread. According to what HAL told one of the 'girls'', she was informed, 'We would prefer it if you would bring your forms with you to the ship'. I don't know if this is because we sail from Osaka, but I will have my T.A. check into it. I have to say that I prefer the way Princess handles these things. For my September cruise with them, my forms are filled out, and I also have a wealth of infomation pertaining to my cruise, on line. With HAL I can't check a d--- thing, other than the odd print out that comes through the regular mail. john
Williebill Posted March 11, 2006 #43 Share Posted March 11, 2006 In an email tonight from HAL, I was told the new immigration form should be available at the end of March; believe it of not!!
Nasmas Posted March 11, 2006 Author #44 Share Posted March 11, 2006 It still wasn't working this morning, but they did update to say if you're cruising after April 14, wait til mid March. We'll see, since mid March is almost here. They used to put an immigration form in your document package. I don't know if they're still doing this or not. I guess I will print one just in case. peaches from georgia Posted March 12, 2006 #46 Share Posted March 12, 2006 Not all pax have a computer, as strange as that may seem to us, so the cruiseline is always going to include the immigration form in the doc packets. And some computer-literate pax choose not to put their passport information online, so there needs to be blank forms for them to fill out also. So it is not disaster if HAL does not get their website fixed before your cruise. Just fill out the ones in the docs.
