treasurer Posted August 31, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2022 Hi cruisers, We have been cruising a lot in the past year but are only starting an Enchanted Princess cruise in October. Since last September we have been on Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Azamara and Oceania .Lately we have found ships are going out at about 70% of capacity. Has that been the case with Princess cruises, too? Thanks.
Rare bronzey214 Posted August 31, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2022 I was just on the Crown (Aug 20-27) and we were at 1998/whatever the capacity was. About 70% though
treasurer Posted August 31, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted August 31, 2022 Thanks. It must be what the CDC is requiring right now.

I believe the CDC isn't requiring anything from the cruise industry. Each cruise line is able to make their own health protocols. CDC is now only offering guidance to the industry but no more requirements. 1

From what I understand, is that capacity problems has been do to staffing. The State Department has been slow walking work visas.

dreaminofcruisin Posted August 31, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2022 Just off the Emerald last week. We were told there were 2666 passengers. Capacity ( I think this is double berth) is 3080, so that would be about 86%.

The Emerald is going into dry dock this fall sometime for "sprucing up", so she should be in great shape for your January cruise!

Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted August 31, 2022 #11 Share Posted August 31, 2022 It was full house on RCI ships Thanksgiving 2021 and June 2022, and our Enchanted Thanksgiving cruise is pretty much sold out.
Rare geoherb Posted September 1, 2022 #12 Share Posted September 1, 2022 I disembarked from the Caribbean Princess today. We had 2,712 passengers--around 86% capacity. They had the front two-thirds of the port side of the Aloha Deck closed off for quarantining people.
harryfat1 Posted September 1, 2022 #13 Share Posted September 1, 2022 We were on the Majestic Princess from 8/6 to 8/13 with 2,162 passengers out of 3,560 so around 61%
