Help with a cabin selection on The Celebrity Edge

Hi fellow cruisers, can you kindlky advise on the question of cabin selection on The Edge.  We do not particularly like The Infinate Cabin as we found there was nowhere to dry our swimwear or anything else for that matter.  So as we are planning on going on the Edge we were thinking of going for a traditional balcony room Concierge Class C2 as against going for the Infinate Balcony Concierge Class....any thoughts.  Are the rooms exactly the same size please.

All of the concierge cabins have the infinite verandah.  And they are the same size.  Only the amenities differ.  There are very few ‘regular’ verandah cabins, or cabins that do not have the infinite verandah.  Many of those are suites.  Folks on the Celebrity board here can help you out with your choices.  EM

We had a sunset veranda.  It had a regular balcony at the back of the ship.  We loved it and so do many others on this board.  Problem is securing one to book!  Good luck.

Drying your laundry on the balcony is a deciding factor on stateroom type. 🤣

Your choices are the Porthole verandah (category P1 and P2), sunset verandah (SV) ,or Sky Suite and above. All categories E1 through E5, C1 through C3 and A1 through A2 are infinite verandahs.

 

We love the Sky Suites, near the forward elevators.

We've never sailed in an IV, but like you I prefer a traditional balcony, so we went with a SV on Edge. We chose cabin 10278 on deck 10, not too close to Eden but also not too close to the Sunset Bar.  The traditional balcony was deep enough for 2 loungers, 2 chairs and small table.  Located all the way aft, it's a long walk to the elevator but very quiet.  We will definitely chose a SV next time we sail on an E-class ship.

The information provided above is pretty dead on.  

Our story is very much like OT-Miami's.  Last September, we had decided that we wouldn't be cruising on the E-series ships, as we had no interest in the Infinite Verandahs.  Then we discovered the Sunset Verandah category.

If you're not wanting to book into a suite category, the Sunset Verandahs are really the only game in town (with the exception of a very few others), if you're wanting an open, "regular" balcony.  (As mentioned, the SV's have larger than normal balconies.)

Someone posted this photo back then, which we found very useful when booking our SV:

 

 

I'll reiterate, these cabins, being off the back of the ship, are a longish walk to the nearest elevators, so anyone with mobility issues, should really think twice before booking into one of these cabins.

We stayed in cabin 10280, and as OT-Miami said, we thought it was a fantastic location.  One issue, these cabins are extremely popular and as there are so few of them, you can have a tough time finding availability.  That's why our next one isn't until Feb '24 on the Apex! 😂

Wow what a great balcony. Looks better than the one we have booked in CS!  I’m limited mobility but I’d take the difficulty walking for that balcony & save my money for extra cruises. Win win.

Definately consider an aft balcony cabin for a true balcony.  If your budget allows, consider a sky suite or above.  Some near elevators and work for those with limited mobility.

We had a porthole verandah on the Edge for a European cruise early this Summer.  We enjoyed that much more than an infinite verandah.
