Drink Package - Building up a “Stash”

So, question. We have the elevate package, which I guess is now the classic drink package.  So I can ask the room steward to empty out the fridge of whatever is in there  when we arrive, and stock it with water and whatever soft drinks we want (because of our package)?

We asked our room attendant to clear out the "charge-us" stuff just to make more room in our little fridge -- primarily for water and Diet Coke. It's definitely worth asking.

Thanks for the tips! Interesting to see if the steward would be willing to stock the fridge. As one said, doesn’t hurt to ask.

Is it obvious on the keycard? We would ded8 Italy enjoy pellegrinos .

Also, does X have Coke Zero or just Diet Coke?

Just as easy to do it yourselves, as said earlier we just pick up drinks as passing by bars on the way back to the room. And you can drink the drinks in the fridge free, just replace them.

Be advised not all room refrigerators are created equal.  Some are barely cool.

An ice bucket refilled with ice each day by your steward solves this. Keep some sodas/waters on ice.

If you have a premium drinks package just ask for it. You have unlimited access to premium waters like Pellegrino, etc. Ask your room attendant and you'll have a fridge full of it every day!

Really? I thought bev packages did not include bevs in your cabin and only cover waters and drinks at bars and dining venues.

That's correct. I think sometimes butlers or stateroom attendants will do more and slip some to keep you happy.

Good to know. Not in a suite here. I always front tip my cabin attendant on day 1, pretty substantially. I just didn’t think they were allowed to do this.

Their level of helpfulness varies widely. In the same cabin type, on the same ship, I had a stateroom attendant wanting to know how he could help me throw parties on my huge verandah and would always bring a bottle of champagne or two to contribute to the cause. My parents had one that refused to unload their minibar for them.

I wouldn’t want to jeopardize their job.   I don’t think they are really allowed to do that.   It isn’t that difficult to get bottles of water, beer and etc from a bar as you are going back to your cabin.   I keep a few empty water bottles.    I will get a glass of bourbon or wine on the way back and then fill the bottle with it for later in the evening.  One for the bourbon and one for the wine.   My wife likes the wine and I like the bourbon.

It is nice sitting on the balcony before retiring sipping on a glass of bourbon with the nightly chocolate glazing at the stars and sea.  Many times while lounging out there in the recliner and footstool I will fall asleep or most probably just pass out.   Wake up and see that most of the bourbon is still in the glass and notice that it is almost time for the sunrise.  🤷‍♂️🤗

The joys of having a nice balcony with good loungers.

On celebrity? Wow.

Yes. I happened to be there and told him that’s not the case as I’d been on four cruises B2B and never was a problem. He said no where to store it. When pushed on it, he said maybe he could put the contents on the countertop. I wondered later how that would go for someone in recovery from alcoholism? Kids in the cabin? Crazy.

While searching for the missing bon voyage order I had sent my Mom each night at guest services, the GSO said their attendant should have picked it up. I said something along the lines (of course I had to put mom and dad to bed then go to guest services to keep up the surprise, after a night of truth serum from Cellar Masters) of “well that makes sense because thus far he hasn’t been very impressive….” and the GSO was aghast. The next day we were both visited by a housekeeping officer. Their stateroom attendant was relieved of his duties taking care of their cabin for the rest of the 15 day cruise and mine was sent down one deck each day to take care of theirs. (There were other issues too revealed in the first day or two that made it clear this just want going to work for 15 nights.) They’re very low maintenance and only want one servicing but I still felt bad for him. Was sure awkward running into the old one in the hall though.

Definitely a juxtaposition because two weeks prior I was on solo and had the most incredible attendant in more than 30 cruises, the one helping me throw champagne parties. I had made a request to chief housekeeper if possible that he might be responsible for my parents’ cabin from the get go as I wanted the best for them but I guess they hadn’t wanted to move him around which I understand. When I first boarded on my B2Bs I made a request for him to stay (as an aside in a commendation form at guest services when I was amazed by how excellent he was) and he told me the manager had come to him to say he’d be staying on my section until I’d disembark. Unfortunately it turned out none of us got him for the canal. Can’t have it all!

Did you not notice him with his bags tucked in the back corner out on the port side of the pool deck?  He probably paid for his cruise selling beer at half the going rate to those with 'Sail Only' packages. 🤪

LMAO  that was funny 😂

The attendants keep a stock of clear plastic bags that they put the fridge contents in and then store it underneath one of the beds next to their supply bag. At least that was what I've seen on all of our cruises.

That's what I told him too! 😆

I did this last week as I had a B2B Casino Bookings and got off the EDGE early (in Palma) so I missed two days, hence booking the beverage package for the full week when I really just had five days didn't make sense. For the first week I had a Premium Non Alc package and picked up two small bottles of Pellegrino from the bars whenever I went back to the cabin. At the end of the week I had enough "supply" for the second week. Together with the Elite Breakfast and Happy Hour all I had was the occasional coffee.

Probably wouldn't have bothered had Celebrity offered to charge only for the 5 days (or refund the two remaining days I wasn't on board anymore) but since they refused I just did it like this.

Thanks. I should have added we are concierge class. Just sounds like each time we pass a lounge we ask for something until we’ve got what we feel we need.

Also, good to know about the servers in the buffet taking drink orders. I was wondering if I would have to line up at bar for drinks with plates in hand.

Every time you head back to the cabin, grab a soda and water at any bar to stock up.

I've brought a bottle of wine and a funnel onboard with me, then after we drink the wine on the first or second day, I get two glasses (one with my card and one with DW's card) two different times in the afternoon, use the funnel to pour them into the empty bottle, recork it and save it until that evening.  Can't say we always drink all of it, but it's nice to have a bottle of wine in the cabin if we want something and don't want to head back out.

Is this the package that has since been discontinued? The package that included mini bar? If so, yes you can ask for the bar to be stocked with what you prefer.

Most of the rest of the beverage packages do not include mini bar and room service. With those packages, you would need to stop at a bar to pick up the drink of your choice and bring it back to the minibar yourself

I believe elevate was between all-included and indulge when there were four options a few months ago. Had to look it up - “Drinks & More” was the fleeting minibar included option.
