Baked Alaska day today but I haven't decided what to order as it's also Lobster and Beef Wellington day - which is better cold ?

I'm waiting for my test results. I made an appointment for 9 but the tester was at my door at 8.20 as his list said 8 !

Good luck. May you get out soon!

(You may warm the lobster in hot water 😉.)

Def lobster.

Ask for some mayonnaise and a side salad and imagine it was meant to be cold! 😊

Seriously though, I hope you're 'released' today so can have whichever, hot!

After 2 hours I got bored of waiting so I did my own test, just as I'd put the liquid in the test strip they rang to say I was negative and I got them to agree I was free to eat outside my cabin ! There was some discussion that I couldn't do anything until my husband tested negative, after a full and frank exchange of views  they relented. I guess if I get escorted out of the first place I'll try I'll be embarrassed !

Good news at last @Host Hattie.

I'm so sorry to hear what has happened to yourself and your husband.

Sending you our prayers 🙏 that your husband tests negative and you can both enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Take care.

I should have lobster then beef Welly, as a celebration.

That's what I usually do when this menu is on, I wasn't going to try from room service but I might ask in the dining room.

Mr HH has the sun this morning so I'm on the Promenade Deck on his side of the ship.

The Captain is making his noon announcement, good weather for the rest of the day and reminding us that they do require masks to be worn when moving around inside the ship. Hopefully that's clear enough for everyone. Compliance was high in the theatre last night for the second show.

What the heck, just ask for a large platter and have them both together. Then one could chill off a bit so Hattie will feel 'at home'! 😀

Sorry to pose a covid related question here HH but it does apply directly to your situation .When your other half was moved was it to a cabin equal to the one  you booked? ….if you have a balcony cabin  do quarantine passengers automatically get moved to  a balcony cabin? Do passengers in inside cabins with covid get upgraded to balcony? ….is there a specific deck for all quarantined passengers ? ( I wouldn’t dad  risk booking anything less than a balcony whilst covid is around)

It's a shame that there is a covid outbreak on board although thinking about it, there's no good way to prevent this really other than masks (pre-boarding testing would help, but what about at ports? Would every pax need to be tested multiple times)? Do you know if the Lido is self service too with these new rules or is it back to people being served (to be honest, I don't mind that having seen people touch bread rolls etc with their hands...)?

I'm on the trip leaving on the 30th. Hopefully things will have improved by then but if not, it'll still be a good trip and it's part of the risk of booking right now (although I was able to fly to Australia and back last month without wearing a mask - that said, I did catch covid on my return). It will be my first trip with my daughter so I'll be pretty obvious to spot (find the couple who look knackered with an 8 month old in a stroller).

Mr HH was moved to a higher grade balcony but if we had wanted to stay together he could have stayed in our cabin.

He has couples as neighbours now, I suspect they were moved from inside or ocean view cabins.

I had the Seafood platter and a glass of champagne in the Chart Room. I do like their small plates and I figured it would be a shorter walk of shame if my cruise card flashed up some sort of warning message. All passed off peacefully and I'm on Deck 10 catching the last of the sun I'll be seeing for a while !

He's being tested tomorrow so it's possible he might get 1 day of freedom but I'm not getting my hopes up.

We're disembarking in Southampton on Friday.

And I imagine, if he is still quarantined, you will have to hang around until the very end of disembarkation for him to be restored to you.

Again, I’ve enjoyed your informative posts about warm/cold food, masks, etc.

How has Mr HH ‘enjoyed’ it?

I'm waiting for an "official response", in the meantime it's a glorious afternoon on Queen Victoria.

Probably, neither of us have had disembarkation information yet.

It clouded over so I went back to the cabin for a siesta before getting ready for formal night.

And suddenly it was Commodore O'Clock Special Roaring Twenties cocktails were on offer, I'm not falling for that again and tried the Mary Pickford after several recommendations in the cocktail thread. Very nice so thank you

Sorry to hear Mr HH has been confined to cabin for most of your cruise.
We have enjoyed your regular updates and will also be onboard QV on the 30th.
As it is Roaring Twenties formal night have many passengers dressed wearing outfits from that era?
