Would somebody give me the run down on B2B's and room changes?

I'm on a B2B2B.....is that how I write three cruises back to back?     When the Diamond cruises got cancelled out of San Diego, I scrambled to find something.   I ended up booking on Discovery.    Problem was/is, the cruise was pretty much sold out and I've got 3 different balcony rooms assigned to me.    I had no choice, I had to go with the GTY cabins.

So, this leads to my questions.

1.  What do I do with my luggage?   I pack it up and then what?

2.  Can I remain on the ship in LA or do I need to get off and come back on?

3.  Do I need a new Medallion for each cruise since my cabin # is different?

4.  Do I need to recheck in?

5.  Anything else I forgot?

Thanks B2B wizards!

This topic is covered to death.  But searching is hard.

1) Yes. Leave the bags in your old cabin.  Leave everything on hangers hanging and your steward will move them to the closet in the new cabin

2) The ship must be zeroed at every turnaround. If you don’t exit of your own volition, you’ll be gathered in a lounge to go off after all the disembarking passengers, the ship will be zeroed out for passengers, and you will return to the ship.

3) No.

4) Also no.

5) Yes.  Your onboard spending account will roll over along with any leftover OBC.  Your casino account will not.  You need to cash it out on the last night of each sold segment.

You only have to pack up what is not on hangers.  They will move everything for you

You need to get off the ship.  You'll get instructions in your cabin.  If everyone follows the instructions, it might take an hour or so.

Your medallion will work for all 3.

Check in where?  The group of B2Bers will follow an employee back onto the ship.  Then you're done.  Changing cabins is sort of a pain but no big deal.

First thing i would do, if your b2b’s are all GTY…I’d make sure your TA/CVP has linked all 3 in the computer.  It looks like they’re already assigned, if so… ask your TA/CVP to watch for availability. And you as well if possible.

1. If I had 3 different cabins, I’d check with GS when OB and ask if they could assign 1 cabin for me.

2. If you Do have to move, you will get instructions from PCL in your cabin a couple of days before on the procedure. Basically, advise your steward and pack everything except your hanging clothes. He will move those for you on turnaround day.  I usually like to go to the new cabin once it’s empty to put our stuff in that safe, or if it’s not ready just take a carryon bag with us through customs.

3. You will usually meet in a group with all the b2b’s and go through customs together and back on the ship.  They clear all the guests first and then the b2b’s.  It’s usually a easy process and nice they do the customs as a group. You must carry your passport and medallion.

IF you want to get off in LA to sightsee or for any reason, you can just get off at any time during the disembarkation instead of with the B2b’s, you will just show your transit card that they give you to get back on.

4. You keep the same medallion for the whole time. The battery lasts about a month.  If it stops working, GS will replace it in just a few minutes.

5. No you do not recheck in. They know you are there.

You don’t say how soon you are leaving, or if the ship shows any availability.  But,

keep checking and see if anything opens.

Good luck! Have a great time!

Agree with most everything already posted.  It would help you mentioned when you are leaving and how long each cruise is.

THEN...I would call Princess (in addition to your TA) and ask to speak to someone in inventory.  I recently did a b2b and was assigned neighboring cabins.  I was okay with that.  Agent told me she would send my request on to inventory (department).  I was shocked to see that I was assigned my favorite cabin and didn't have to move at all.

I don't know what transpired.  I surmise that the person in the cabin was given an upgrade to move them out so that I could stay in mine.

Princess does a lot of musical cabins.  I do not profess to knowing what their game rules are.

Confirming zero out casino account/OBC rolls over/you have to get off the ship/wait/you walk back through security with your transit card.

1.  What do I do with my luggage?   I pack it up and then what?

Discuss with your cabin steward. Hang as much on hangers in the closet as possible. These items will be moved to your new cabin and hung in the closet. Place the other items in the suitcase. The suitcases will be moved to your new cabin. Speak with the new cabin steward during the cruise. Remove items from the cabin safe. Carry them with you or ask your new cabin steward if you can place them into your new cabin safe. Cabins have to be vacated by 8am.

2.  Can I remain on the ship in LA or do I need to get off and come back on?

You will have to go through immigration. You will receive detailed instructions in your cabin. Follow them exactly. Report to the gathering location at or before the time indicated, usually around 9:30am. ALL passengers must exit the ship, no exceptions. Even if one passenger remains on board no one will be allowed to re-board or board until that passenger is located and escorted off the ship. Carry your passport and medallion with you. A staff member will lead the group off the ship, through immigration and back onto the ship.

Option 2 - exit the ship before final disembarkation call. Carry you passport, medallion and intransit card (supplied on the ship) with you. Go into town. Re-board anytime after general boarding has begun. You will have to go through immigration when exiting the ship and you will have to go through security when re-boarding

3.  Do I need a new Medallion for each cruise since my cabin # is different?

Probably not. But if you do it will be delivered to you cabin

4.  Do I need to recheck in?

No. See #2 above.

5.  Anything else I forgot?

Have fun and watch the ship fill up. We like to sit in the Piazza or poolside.

We were on a 3-way B2B a few months back. All cabins assigned to us were different and were on a guarantee basis. Shortly before the cruise Princess moved us to the same cabin throughout the cruise.  So, that may happen to you as well. Never can tell what they are thinking or what they are going to do, but it may happen to you as well. Also, one of the first things I would do once onboard is to go to the Customer Service Desk and make sure all of your cruises are booked together, particularly important so any remaining OBC is carried over from one cruise to another.

Please don't worry about how everything will work out, it has always been very smooth for us and we almost always booked on a B2B basis.

Thank you all for such detailed answers, it's exactly what I needed in a clear and concise format.

BTW:   Discovery October 1st thru the 22nd......CA Coastal/Mexican Riviera/CA Coastal

One of the "negatives" of having the muster drill on the television/personal devices....Pre-Medallion, you only had to do the muster drill once.  Then you could thumb your nose up at all those boarding on the subsequent cruises as you basked by the pool or sat in the piazza.  Ha Ha.  Never did that.  I hid out in my room in case the muster police were rounding up strays.

You still only have to do it once on b2b’s or once every 30 days.  That’s what we were told on our 6 b2b’s.

Also, all your b2b’s should show as one cruise on the MedallionClass App.

Will just show the first cabin number on

the sailing, but the date will show the whole period.

On the website though, it does show each cruise with each cabin number.

Watch those cabins, as they may change.
