Purchasing Wine in Transit for Gift

Okay, let me refrain this question.  Am I allowed to bring back wine from a port, go through security, AND take the wine back to my cabin?

Without it being confiscated by table monitor

Without paying a corkage fee?

General consensus is that I should not have a problem taking the wine off the ship.

Thanks, but the question is not the final port...but the port after picking up the wine.

Thanks @HaveDogWillTravel Maybe if I. please my case with security....Appreciate the taste test.  Wonder if there is a wine shop near the ship.

This is from my notes on Pacific Northwest sailings. I didn’t get to them as we were in port on a Monday and 2 weren’t  open. Then Costco was so convenient I didn’t make it to the highly rated Bridge and Tunnel which is closer to pier. I’m planning on going to them in a couple of weeks when I’m back up there again.

Astoria Food and wine/beer stores

South Bay Wild Fish House Wednesday-Saturday 12-7 pm

Bridge and Tunnel 1390 Duane Street, Beer, wine & Spirits

Brut Wine Bar and Retail Shop Tuesday- Saturday 1 - 9pm , 240 10th Street

NO ONE can tell you for sure.

If you read the rules, then you know the answer.

You have been given people’s experiences…..maybe.

You need to make the decision and not rely on others guesses or experiences.

Be prepared to pay corkage fees and if you don’t have to and get through security…then great.  JMO

I would say 100% no confiscation for wine.

I would say your chances of avoiding corkage fee a re MUCH higher than 50%, but no one can guarantee that.  I do think your story/plan could well help to ameliorate any attempt to assess a corkage fee, in the small chance an employee might attempt to assess one.
