We've sailed on the Coral 3 times which (I hope) indicates that we are quite fond of this ship. Two cruises to Alaska and the last one around the horn of South America which included Antarctica. We loved the feel of the ship; the multiple viewing areas forward and the size which was comfortable but not cramped. I like some of the options on the newer ships but always have a fondness for this older baby. Will cruise on her again, given the chance..enjoy!

I'm hoping that we will enjoy her.  We are used to a much smaller ship, but I'm starting to get excited about sailing on the Coral.  Thank you for the positive reinforcement

Whilst Coral is in Australia, as per government regulations there is no smoking inside the ship, not even in the Churchill smoking lounge.  A couple of designated deck areas for the smokers. So a smoke free environment within the ship, suits me as am a non smoker.  I am just off Coral in Sydney.

Wonderful news!  We are on the 28 day Round Australia cruise in April 2023.

So there is still smoking on the ship, correct?

Just off the Coral two days ago. Lovely ship. Have done two cruises on her since June. Definitely no smoking inside. Designated smoking areas on outside deck. Churchill Lounge unused so lovely peaceful spot to take a book. Unfortunately we like to stroll the promenade deck in evening but they rope the Aft off each night for crew smoking. Very sad!

If the crew couldn't smoke, they'd probably mutiny!

There were two guest smoking areas. A windswept one forward on the starboard upper deck and an area on the starboard promenade deck outside the Universe Lounge.

The casino is still smoking.  I didn't notice any smoke in the IC, but maybe it was the time of day.  They took a portion of the casino to add the IC, and the casino was pretty small to begin with.   The passage through the ship is on the aisle closest to the wall, so the ICC sits  between the aisle and the casino.  It's not like some ships where you must walk through the casino (on that deck) when passing through.  Of course, this was a Panama Canal trip and not Australia.

We have sailed on the Coral 3 times, since cruising resumed in Australia in June this year.

We wanted to test out our cabin for the 2023 World cruise from Sydney

We loved the size of the ship, plenty of places to relax, and a walk around Promenade deck is  excellent.  No smoking is allowed inside at all

Staff have been wonderful and so happy to be back at work

The Coral is going to be based in Australia indefinitely, so if you want to sail on her, you will have to come Downunder 🙂

Cheers

Sailed Coral on Panama cruise in Jan 2019 for 15 days.  Loved the ship.  Great viewing from multiple decks, wrap around single level promenade, dancing every night in the Wheelhouse bar, and enrichment lectures in the theatre.  Great trip.

It sounds like we will have no trouble keeping busy on board.  :DD

Thanks!

Well, it helps that our son and his SO are in Melbourne now.  At least we will have an excuse to sail her.  Thanks and I'm so looking forward to our cruise.

Yes, but in nominated areas on open deck. Cannot remember exactly where but I did pass some smokers on the promenade deck.  But no smoking within the ship.

2019 was before covid; so no crew smoking area in the aft promenade.
