kicia Posted October 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2022 Hello! Just checking if anyone is receiving the shareholder credit if the booking has any kind of discount - military, senior, TA, resident, casino. According to Carnival these are being denied. It looks like the only ones that can get the credit ars first timers who don't get any discount that is due to their VIFP number. I know this happened the end of last year and then it was resolved. If you did get the credit with a discount, what did you do? Thank you!
Rare 1kaper Posted October 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2022 There was a long thread on this not long ago. It seems it is hit or miss on whether you get it or not if sailing on a discount. I've seen people with casino discounts get it and others be denied. Some people re-submitted and were successful. Some weren't.

Woody14 Posted October 12, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2022 Had the seniors discount and still got the shareholder OBC on the Panorama in July. I just applied for it normally.
johnboy036 Posted October 13, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2022 I have yet to be denied in five cruises in the past year when it appears others having been having problems. Some of the fares this past January and March were balconies for less than $200 per person, so highly discounted. I don't know if I have been lucky on who is looking at my paperwork, but if I was denied I would just retry and hope for the best.
Lee Cruiser Posted October 13, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2022 I sent in for three cruises back in the late spring. These were for September 2022, January 2023 and April 2023. The two cruise for next year were booked with the 50th Anniversary 50% off deal. I received notification in about two-three weeks approving credit for all three cruises. kona_wahine Posted October 13, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 13, 2022 Our February cruise is costing us $680 total (including taxes & fees) for us both with $200 OBC. Put in for shareholder credit and got it no problem. 😁

groundloop Posted October 13, 2022 #10 Share Posted October 13, 2022 From what folks have been saying on here the only time you'll be denied shareholder OBC is if you're sailing on a casino rate. I've had many of the promotional rates (resident, over 55, and many very good VIFP deals) and have never been denied my OBC.

While the casino rate is a bit of an outlier, if you are not a CCL employee or a travel agent using TA rates, you do not qualify to be denied the SOBC.
