kayjaypea42 Posted November 18, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2022 Hello. So I was looking at the bar menus, and while there are a lot of drinks that I would very much like to try, I notice that there are some classics that are conspicuously missing, like Pina Coladas, Strawberry Daiquiris, Bushwhackers, or any other frozen drink. I also don't see traditional mojitos or margaritas (though there are other tequila and rum drinks.) Are the bar tenders able to make those kinds of drinks even if they're not on the menu? Thanks! kapcruiser Posted November 18, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2022 Following, I’ve been wondering the same thing. Frozen drinks are my favorite

Blended drinks available at most bars. The one exception is the Whiskey Bar, Deck 8 Atrium, which focuses on whiskey and does not have some of the more traditional cruise drinks.
CruizinSusan70 Posted November 18, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2022 Invest in the Vibe. Best bar on board, padded loungers always available, two large hot tubs to relax in and kid free.

Alas I am travelling with a large family group, some of whom have kids, so abandoning them all for the sake of the Vibe is not in the cards for this trip, though I might consider it for the next one. alchemist4 Posted November 20, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2022 I remember the pool bar and atrium/casino bar had them, but the staff was sometimes rude about making anything close to a standard drink at some locations. We couldn’t even get a margarita at a few of the bars (and no, not at the whiskey only bar). It definitely felt different from other ship experiences. curlstravel Posted November 20, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2022 We loved the Metropolitan bar. The chocolate cowboy was there and the whole staff was awesome. I am a martini drinker and had one every night. The chocolate cowboy even created a new martini called Girls Night while I was there. It was amazing he made it for me every night. Some of the other martinis I had were Cosmo, raspberry, lemon drop made with lemon cello or a regular lemon drop. They had some great rum drinks at that bar too. I am normally not a rum drinker but some of the drinks were delicious. Go see the chocolate cowboy and ask him if he will make “girls night” for you. You will love it. Yes, of course. Remember that menus only exist to offer suggestions to those who might not be able to quickly decide...they are not a limiting list on what you can get at the bar. IOW, "rum & coke" doesn't have to be on a menu for a bar to be able to serve it to you.

Because the Prima is set up to be different from other ship experiences. At the Metropolitan Bar, they rely on their sustainable drink menu and supplement it with some basic drinks. There are drinks though that the Chocolate Cowboy will not make including mojitos and margaritas. Mainly because the bar doesn't stock the needed ingredients like mint. I did bite my tongue one night there when a patron walked up and asked about a margarita. Clarence said no and even though I saw no cartoned margarita mix, the fresh lemon, lime and orange juices along with simple syrup could have been mixed with tequila and triple sec to concoct a proper margarita.

Not all of the bars have blenders, so that eliminates all frozen drinks. But of course the outside bars have them so you'll be covered at the pool bar, speedway bar and food hall bar. But, if you like mojitos, there is no specific mojito bar and not all of the other bars stock mint. The Metropolitan Bar heavily relies on their premade sustainable drinks, which are delicious for the most part. Just go into your trip in January on the Prima with an open mind. curlstravel Posted November 20, 2022 #11 Share Posted November 20, 2022 If you go to the Buffet at lunch you can sit in the food republic which was never crowded and you had a nice ocean view. We got margaritas almost every day at the bar right across the hall where the polamar restaurant is.
