Open Dine My Way

View or book individual daily reservations

add reservation

from there you should be able to proceed to select the venue and time.

Reservations open up for Elite ( and some group bookings) upon deposit everyone else once final payment is made. - at least that’s the way Medallion is suppose to be programmed but YMMV.

Problem is that it's impossible to book speciality dinning days until you can see the MDR menu for each day of the sailing. You need to book the bad menu days on MDR no one books speciality blind - how do we check the MDR menu for each day on the app for our sailing?

How do I make specialty dinner reservations in advance?  I’ve looked on the app but didn’t find anything.

Tom😀

If you have regular dining room reservations you cannot make a specialty dining without cancellation of your regular dining.

Nothing is impossible. We figure out "formal" nights and schedule another night for specialty dining.

That is a matter of opinion.  We book specialty dining based on the itinerary and what we expect to be doing that day. If we can't find anything we want on MDR menu, we go to other included venues.  Or you can create your own progressive dinner around the ship.  😊😉

We have always booked specialty dining based on any events we may be celebrating or the itinerary. Nothing "impossible" about it. Advice based on hyperbole is never good advice.

I don't think it is really possible to second guess menus right now.  I am seeing an embarkation night menu that was very different, and didn't show Prime Rib.   I think the second formal night has some of the usual items.   Don't you have to wait until boarding to see the menus?   I am not sure if they are all on your TV, but used to be able to go to the front desk and see them.

We are booked on a shortie cruise, so I am not holding out much hope for the better menu items at all. We might book some kind of specialty dining, especially because of this.

Maybe a little off topic but it is related to booking specialty dining in advance. We have 4 complimentary specialty dinings gifted from our TA that show up on our booking for our cruise in a few weeks. This will be our first Medallion cruise and our first opportunity to book specialty dining in advance. I think I'm remembering that if you book specialty dining in advance the up-charge is billed to your credit card on file for the cruise. There was a post a year or so ago that the poster said the Medallion app 'recognized' their complimentary dinings and their credit card wasn't charged. Anyone with recent experience with this situation? Wondering if it would be less of a hassle to just wait to book the reservations until we are on the ship like we've done in the past. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I was not able to reserve from the Medallion, but I was able to make reservations from the Princess site by going into the Web Version. It now shows upon the Medallion site.

Thanks!! I went on the web version and that site recognizes that we have specialty dining credits and notes that we will be credited for those when we make our reservations. Perfect!

Have been on seven cruises in the last year, Prime Rib is now night number two.

Second formal night is still lobster and Beef Wellington.

I also am unable to make specialty dining reservations in the medallion for my cruise starting in 58 days. However, When I log into my Princess acccount/personalizer and bring up “dining reservations” in that cruise, it tells me it must be done in the medallion. Huh?!

When logging into your cruise booking on the website, go this page and click on the "Try our web version" shown at the right middle in the image below. Then click on "Dine My Way" under the "Suggested" section on the page that will open up. There you can make all your dining reservations, selecting dining rooms, times and size of table. I can make or cancel reservations there. Our cruise is in a little less than four months.

I made reservations on the app for my complementary specialty dining and the charge zeroed out when I finalized the reservations.

We haven't sailed Princess since 2015. We will be on the Regal, December 2 and I tried to make a reservation for the Crown Grill. Sabatini's shows availability for every night of the cruise, but the Crown Grill only shows availability for the first night of the cruise.

Does this seem normal? Crown Grill booked solid pre-cruise for the entire cruise? If normal, any chance of booking once on board?

A lot of people got free specialty restaraunt vouchers when things opened up.  Crown Grill booking up before sailing has been quite common.  We have had good luck booking once on board.
