Because spending time on Cruise Critic is entertaining. The contention comes from Princess' ambiguity. Princess' line, "please observe," is not a rule, it's a request. A request leads to discussion. Sometimes we learn another's point of view, sometimes share our own. My own thoughts on formal night wear have changed over the course of reading these threads.
