Wine pricing

I’m aware that my wife & I can bring one bottle of wine each onboard with us (with no corking fee if we savor them in our cabin).  But if I want to purchase one (or more) for consumption in our cabin - is it overly expensive?.  Easy?.  What can you share with us?.  Many thanks in advance for your thoughts.

The on board cost of bottles of wine is generally well above the market value such that you can bring more wine on board of better value and even considering the $20 corkage fee you may be subject to.

It depends on what you drink -but bottles are pretty close to double the price we pay at a discount liquor store.  For instance,  Belle Glos Las Alturas runs about $45 a bottle at Total Wine and on the shipit is $78 a bottle.  For us I don't want to drag a bottle of wine around in my backpack until my room is ready.  Plus they sell it by the glass and we have the Plus Package so we pay about $6 plus tip for a glass here and there.

The link above is a wonderful resource for all the bars and MDR by the glass. However MDR has a full wine list that includes a much wider selection of bottles.  Keep in mind that just because a wine is listed does not mean it’s actually on the ship. Available stock varies widely from ship to ship, especially with regards to nicer wines. This is the MDR wine menu from the Sapphire November 2022.  These prices do not include the mandatory 18% gratuity. If you have a Plus package the price is discounted 25%. The Premier package will have at least that much of a discount. Idk for sure as I don’t buy that one.
