Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #77 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Just to get your taste buds warmed up, here's a preview of some of the spots I've been hitting around Atlanta... First, a fairly new fish spot that recently made the list of Esquire Magazines top 40 restaurants in America: coming in at number 13, Fishmonger in the Poncy Highland neighborhood... Their blackened grouper sandwich literally changed my life. This was THE best piece of fish I've ever eaten in my life. The sandwich cost twenty bucks, but is totally worth it on freshness and flavor alone. I'll be coming back here to check out more of their menu soon.

Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #79 Share Posted November 30, 2022 And, a bit of the surrounding neighborhood. This area used to be famous for hooker's and druggies, but now great dining options are beginning to pop up left and right. Right down from Fishmonger is Atlanta's famous (infamous) Clermont Lounge, a seedy strip club, where the average age of the "dancers" is between 40 and 50... Blondie, (age 65) the most famous stripper in all Atlanta still holds court there, and crushes Pabst Blue Ribbon cans between her, eh "cans"... A few more shots from the area... The Majestic Diner and Plaza Theater have been there wayyy since before I was born, and I'm old... 9

Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #83 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Another of my go-to hole in the wall spots is Ming's BBQ on Buford Highway... Authentic Chinese bbq, and the kind of place when you go there, it's mostly Chinese people dining... I usually get the roast duck and crispy pork combo, and an order of shrimp fried rice... This makes two nice size meals.
Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #84 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Scoville Hot Chicken opened up right in the middle of the pandemic, and survived due to their awesome and huge chicken sandwich... The fries are always cooked to order as well, so they come out hot and crispy.
Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #85 Share Posted November 30, 2022 One of the best burgers in all of Atlanta can be found at Superica, a tex mex restaurant, and this one is as sloppy as they get. You just dive in and let the juice run down your arms ...

Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #87 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Alright, since we're looking at meat, let's look at one of the greatest steaks in town... Blue Ridge Grill is owned by the same people who own Bone's Steakhouse, and this bone in ribeye was easily one of the top ten steaks in my life... Good thing someone else was buying, as this baby runs about $80 with no sides... The chopped salad I got with it was filled with all kinds of surprises...
Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #88 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Houston's restaurant, owned by Hillstone only has two locations left in Atlanta, but their food never disappoints... The double cut pork chop with whipped potatoes and red cabbage and goat cheese is no exception... Their traditional salad with buttermilk garlic dressing is probably my favorite salad anywhere.
Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #89 Share Posted November 30, 2022 One more, before we return to your regularly scheduled programming. Hello Chicken on Buford Highway serves up some of the greatest Korean fried chicken in Atlanta. This is their whole fried chicken, half hot half plain... Sublime...

Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #91 Share Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) To make preparations for the arrival of their flagship vessel to its home port in Miami, Carnival redesigned and expanded one of the outdated old cruise terminals into the shiny new 471,000 square foot “Terminal F”… From what I understand, they completely refurbished the aging structure, and the new terminal would feature an area called the “Golden Jubilee”, showcasing memorabilia from their now scrapped fantasy class ships. I actually sailed out of this terminal back in October 2021 when it was being utilized by Virgin Voyages during the construction of their brand new Terminal V. One side was used for corona virus testing, and the other side as the security screening area, as well as the check-in and waiting area. I’m sure that it’s much nicer now with the upgrades… Edited November 30, 2022 by sid_9169

Rare sid_9169 Posted November 30, 2022 Author #93 Share Posted November 30, 2022 I haven't had a drink in two days, but the owner of my company invited me to Taqueria Del Sol this evening, which has some of the greatest margaritas in town. Looks like I'm drinking tonight.
