If you wish to have breakfast or lunch in MDR do you book it through the app?

On our recent Carnival cruise, you made a reservation through the app during opening hours if you wanted to have breakfast or lunch in the MDR, then waited for confirmation to come through, showing your allocated table number.  

 

Sailing on Majestic Princess in a few days.  We have already prebooked our dinner reservations but wondering what the procedure is for having breakfast or lunch in MDR.

I think that you just show up at the designated dining room at that time.  I dont remember being able to use the ap to make a lunch/breakfast reservation.

No reservation needed but TravelTrotter reserved a "solo cruisers" table for 10 at 12:15 in September 2022. Felt great just walking in but I think that was bc we were a ship sponsored group

Not on PCL. You just show up for bkfst or lunch, during open hours.

What he said^^^^. Just show up at the dining room that is open, during open hours, and wait your turn to be seated.

There is usually no wait for breakfast and lunch in mdr  check patter for open mdr it is usually deck 6 midship.

What if you didn't like that assigned table number.

Could you change it afterwards when you found out where it was located?

Never thought about changing it.  We always requested a table for 2 and were happy with it wherever it was.

There can often be quite a line for lunch waiting for the dining room to open.
