Secret sands/smith bay currently

So our ships tour to secret sands in a couple of days has been canceled. For operational reasons.  Do you know why? Roads? Condition of beach? We figure we can get a taxi if it's actually the operator and not the site itself

“Secret Sands” is the name of the cruise line excursion to Smith Bay Park/Lindqvist Beach. Much better going on your own if you don’t mind grabbing a lunch/drinks and laying on a towel as only restroom facilities for non-excursion folks. But if open Lindqvist is arguably the most gorgeous beach on the island.

 

Perhaps you can check  the SBP site, or better yet ask if the park is open on the TripAdvisor STT forum for a quick answer!

we had to take this tour last November and it was good. But I wouldn't say this beach is the most beautiful or whatnot.

Secret sands:

 

We like going to Sapphire beach - just as beautiful. And has amenities.

 

 

How much was the Secret Sands tour supposed to be? It's not on the taxi list from last month. I think we may have paid $36 pp in Nov 2021, but now it's probably a lot more.

Secret Sands is cruise name for Lindqvist Beach or Smith Bay Park. It's not on the sign posted, but will probably be $15 per person each way.

Not sure what the ship excursion price is, but taxi fare should be the same as Sapphire… 
 

To us, at least, Lindqvist is the one of the two STT beaches that still has that “old Caribbean feel”. But it is seeing more visitors today for sure…

Sapphire is our favorite, we’ve never been there on a cruise but love staying there!

I think the biggest challenge is hoping that there will be a return ride. The taxis aren't lining up to carry folks back to th e cruise ports.

No, there's no taxi stand at the beach, but you can call the driver who brought you or go to the main road and a passing taxi should be along in a few minutes who can take you back to the ship.

Taxis go by quite often so no challenge really. If walking to the road presents a challenge, you can ask your driver to return or call as mentioned.
 

Taxis not “lining up to carry folks back to th e cruise ports” is actually a good reason for going to Lindqvist!
