roberts2005 Posted January 2, 2023 #51 Share Posted January 2, 2023 On our 24 day Marina cruise in October, I eventually gave up on steaks and ordered veal whenever I could.

Their parents structural issues and over expansion into river cruises and ship yards caused its failure. (an of course you know this) We are now RSSC fans, might give Crystal another look but certainly being burnt and owed money leaves a bitter taste in ones mouth. Rare terrydtx Posted January 2, 2023 #53 Share Posted January 2, 2023 I am glad to see the good reports about the Marina. Today we booked our first cruise with Oceania, the 18-day Santiago to Buenos Aires cruise in March 2025. This decision followed a very long Celebrity thread about Celebrity Suites customers switching to Oceania because of new pricing. We have loved Celebrity Suites but in 2025 their prices for a 14-night itinerary on the Equinox of South America has gotten way too high for us. We like the suites on Celebrity mainly because of their private restaurant Luminae as it offers a much-improved menu in a smaller venue. We are booked in a A2 Veranda cabin on the Marina for $370 cost per night pp. A Sky suite on the Equinox comes out to $570 pp per night. Compare that to our booked New Zealand cruise on the Celebrity Edge in 2024 in a Sky Suite for $400pp per night. The way we see it the only thing we miss on the Oceania cruise over the Equinox is a Butler and the drinks package plus $800 OBC for booking a suite. However $1887 ($2687-$800OBC) less in cost plus having 4 more days of cruising more than makes up the difference.

Actually you pay for your "free" OBC, so you are saving more than you think.
Rare PaulMCO Posted January 5, 2023 #55 Share Posted January 5, 2023 Seems like they are running out of things. Some fruits are getting old. Dry cereals out of certain ones. Ran out Lamb Chops in Terrace 3 nights ago. Have plenty of liquor in the cabin 🙂
janecambridge Posted January 5, 2023 #56 Share Posted January 5, 2023 Yes we have seen a reduction in choices the last few days. e.g. A lot of tinned fruit. Instead of berries. Less cheese choice. etc. garnishes on meals are poor. Frozen bananas??

Rare mauibabes Posted January 6, 2023 #60 Share Posted January 6, 2023 The 25% Brazilian Tax/Fee added to everything might make some needed provisioning challenging, even with an overnight in Rio coming up. Guests try most anything to keep from buying stuff on board even so they can defer the costs. Maybe by the time they reach Buenos Aires on the 17th they can restock. They make the South America season every year, minus Covid time, so they know what they are doing and when and where to get supplies. I wonder if they can order from Amazon 🤪😁 We will SURVIVE.
