Tripmode33 Posted December 9, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2022 There have been reports on main Princess forum that ships are starting to reverse the unpopular decision to rope off the aft section of the promenade for crew smoking. I am happy to report that the Grand Princess has now opened up the full promenade for guests. If anyone is currently on the Coral Princess, I would love to know if they have now reopened the aft section to guests. We tend to choose ships that have full covered promenades, as we love to walk in the mornings and stroll in the evenings when weather is pleasant. 2
Ondine Posted December 10, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2022 Is this why we were unable to walk around the aft promenade during our NZ/Qld cruise on Grand? We were able to do it for the first few days and then after that it was always roped off. Wondered what was going on.

Rare arxcards Posted December 11, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2022 (edited) Coral also had the aft roped off, and Majestic forward of the theatre doors starboard as well. I got the impression that local rules meant they could no longer have an indoor smoking area. Edited December 11, 2022 by arxcards

I heard that the word had come down from big Princess headquarters that crew smoking would return to non-guest area back to Deck 4 crew area???

That is better for passengers. A promenade deck you can walk around is a big attraction for passengers.
AZjohn Posted December 12, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 12, 2022 As a related question regarding the Grand, did they eliminate smoking inside the casino also while doing Australia/New Zealand itineraries? Cheers, John

Rare Womble99 Posted December 12, 2022 #10 Share Posted December 12, 2022 Unfortunately it doesn't get the smell out though... especially from the cigar lounge if there is one on the ship.
