Riviera PH Suite Level Questions

They have three levels, PH1, PH2 & PH3.  All of them seem to offer the same amenities, though there isn't really all that much of a cost diff between the three levels.  I ask because we want to book one of their 10 day Med cruises in April/May 2023 and wondering if anyone can suggest any reason for booking or not booking, one over the other.  Frankly, the cost for a 10 day cruise with the intins we are looking at really looks fantastic, esp compared to the 14 day TA I recently did on Celebrity Edge.  TYIA.

The difference between the PH levels is purely location.  That said, I find the PH combination of extra room and extra amenities to be the sweet spot.  And the pictures of the refurbished PH cabins on Riviera look even better than the original layout that we experienced (and loved).

The only difference is location on the ship. The worst are the PH1 under Waves  and the pool deck. We prefer the PH2s on deck 10 that don’t have the obstructed view verandas as those on deck 11.

Uh Oh. We are PH2 on deck 11. What obstructs the veranda views???

This is text pertaining to the refurbishment and which PH cabins will, or will not retain bathtubs.

Recently, Oceania Cruises unveiled its plans to re-inspire Riviera by dramatically upgrading all of her guest accommodations and public spaces. All guest accommodations will be completely transformed and outfitted with all new furniture and furnishings, wall coverings, upholstery, lighting, technology, additional storage space, and new bathrooms.

All category PH1 and PH2 Penthouse Suites will now feature an oversized, walk-in rainforest shower with a built-in bench. The dramatically more spacious and functional walk-in shower was made possible by removing the under-utilized separate bathtub and small shower stall. These changes will take effect with the sailing beginning on December 7, 2022.

The current bathtub and shower combination bathroom configuration will remain in place in select category PH3 Penthouse Suites. Details on those specific accommodations are detailed below.

Penthouse Suites and Staterooms with the bathtub and shower:

PH3: 9138, 9145, 10002, 10003, 10004, 10005, 10008, 10009, 10010, 10011

On deck 11 suites have a shade-giving roof that extends outwards, because deck 12 is wider. Some like the shade, some don't, some find the roof interferes with the view.

On deck 10, PH3 10002 and 10003 have a partially obstructed view from the searchlights on either side of the bridge.

When we have been on Deck 11, the extended Deck 12 overhang was not an issue, actually like it better as it offered a little more shade from the Caribbean Sun. Definitely not good we’re the PH’s under Waves and at the e Terence on the Starboard side to the Terrace Cafe.  Not all but some were noisy, especially if under the Deck 12 traffic patterns in the lobby area.

We loved the Deck 11 PH suites, specifically because of the extra shade.  I suppose we wouldn't like it if we were sailing into fjords where we would want to be looking almost straight up, but otherwise, we've never felt the view was "obstructed".

And the Executive Lounge is right there.

But we (me!) love the tubs.  So I guess it would be Deck 10 in the future...

As for noise from the upper Deck, we chose PH suites that were under the Oceania Suites, so we were surrounded side-to-side and above-below with other suites, not potentially noisy areas.

Can anyone tell us about the redone PH suites’ USB ports. Am assuming they will have been installed on either side of the bed. Maybe one or two by the desk. USB-A not USB-C.
thank you

Someone posted this is the Riviera re-inspired thread and also some great pictures.

" USB plugs both A and C are on both sides of the bed and under the TV.  US and EU outlets in all those places plus at the desk."

I’ll find out in May if this is duplicated on the Vista. Looking into a Riviera cruise.
thanks
