Rare Shippy Posted December 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2022 We are in a GS for a cruise leaving in exactly 1 month. You can go on any website that shows what cabins are left and they will say nothing above a mini suite. We just received an offer to bid on upgrades for a 2 bedroom Grand Suite, the Owners Suite or the Royal Suite. Apparently these cabins are no longer available. I wonder if those bidding offers automatically go out for the next 3 higher categories whether available or not.
jalves Posted December 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2022 I suspect they believe that a few people will have to cancel by the time the cruise sails

Yes, the offers are not really based on inventory.
gumshoe958 Posted December 15, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2022 People can and do cancel last minute or no show. Royal doesn’t want empty suites. RoyalUp means that won’t happen - and Royal makes more $$$.
neverbeenhere Posted December 15, 2022 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2022 Been told by a person, who should know, that Royal uses the late additional bid offers for purposes of setting bid amounts.
