Yacht Club Guaranty Room

I was looking at multiple cruises in Jan 2024 and that all that was showing up for Yacht Club were guaranty rooms. Is the Yacht Club guaranty room really a thing? I know when something similar happened on NCL for suites/haven a few years back, it was a system error and the booking would end up cancelled after several days.

Also, if MSC really does YC guaranty rooms, could you end up with an interior room? Is that what it most likely would be, or would it always be at least a suite with a balcony?

I noticed this as well, seems really strange. I think it's because of pricing uncertainty that far out with the inflationary environment we've been in. But I don't know why anyone would book these without knowing what you're getting.

It’s another example of MSCs IT incompetence to maintain/develop their website.

No more mock bookings possible to check availability, location and price of cabins in YC

categories (Inside, Deluxe, Grand Deluxe, OS, RS).

The booking process skips directly to passenger information.

The guest can only guess what kind of YC category the guarantee booking will be.

Who would book a $5K+ cruise without knowing essential details ?

Thanks for posting this. We had such a good time with our first Yacht Club experience that in-laws decided to book one to join us in March. She's tech savvy and yet was confused as to why there seemed to be no choice of YC cabins on our date of departure. Now I understand. Thanks.

It's a website problem that popped up last week. I'm (not) surprised that it hasn't already been fixed.

MSC will eventually realize that the booking software needs attention .. when they notice that YC bookings have dropped by 99% during the last 7 days.

Well the guaranty prices are reasonable, but I wouldn't want an inside, even at that price.

I didn’t think I would like an inside YC until I tried it. It’s small for sure but great A/C in that space with no neighbors sleeping with their balcony doors open (disabling surrounding a/c units). Not sure I could go back to a balcony as the A/C has become the most important feature to any room I stay in these days. As a general rule, I’d like my room cold enough to hang meat 🥶. Poor DH sleeps with a beenie cap on his head. Sorry… not sorry

On the US site, I was able to see Yacht Club stateroom categories and stateroom choices if I pasted...

"/cabin-location" after the last "....NewCruise=true#" in the URL of the Guest Information page.

(To select the type of Yacht Club stateroom)

...and stateroom choice if I pasted...

"/cabin-number" after the same "....NewCruise=true#" in the URL of the Guest Information page.

(To select a particular stateroom in the selected type)

Basically, when the site forces you to the Guest Information page, overwrite the "/passengers-data" in the URL. If you can get to the stateroom type, you'll probably be able to select a particular stateroom. It doesn't always work and sometimes the orange box will pop up.

I'm only looking at dates that I already have booked so I only know which staterooms are booked. I didn't go all the way and actually book but if someone wants to book, they can give it a try.

The SeaShore was the warmest ship I've been on. The only place I was able to get cool was in my cabin after I'd been in the room for at least 30 minutes.  That was in the YC suite. The aft suite never really did cool down as much as I would have liked, but at least it was cooler than the rest of the ship. Are all MSC ships kept on the warm side? Guess I'll find out over the next year when we cruise again.

Couldn’t agree more!  Seashore was incredibly warm!  I think a lot of it had to do with the lighting…very intense little puck lights everywhere!  We saved a lot of money in the casino that trip bc I couldn’t get away from those blasted heat lamps. But our YC balcony was no better. Nothing changed despite several complaints. In contrast, I was not hot one time on Meraviglia.

MSC Germany (MSC Kreuzfahrten GmbH) website in Germany is working just fine.. including selection of sub-categories and checking availability of cabins..  https://www.msccruises.de

It seems that MSC USA screwed it up >again< !

WOW , it’s unbelievable that a company doesn’t analyzes and addresses issues when entering a fairly new market..

That makes me happy to hear as I also like to sleep in a cold room. I also travel with a little fan, which also helps.

Good, our next cruise is scheduled on the Meraviglia, although I keep hearing about all sorts of issues on the Mera our of Port Canaveral. Especially on the shorter cruises. Then we''re supposed to do the SeaScape out of Miami next fall.

Upon realizing something was not quite correct on their website, I simply called them and made my booking.  When I used the website it automatically gave me an interior YC cabin.  Nor really what I wanted to when talking to the MSC agent, she got me hooked up.

There is always something not quite correct on MSC USA website.

They don’t even proofread what’s publicly posted -> YATCH Club .. really ?

Calling MSC is not practical when browsing multiple sailings for pricing and availability of cabins.

Thanks. The cabin-location worked for me and let me see select the different categories and see the available cabins. I found other pages with missing content and you can use this same type of work-around (hack) to get to some of that content. (For the Seascape, it isn't showing all the different cabin types on the ship information page any more, for example, but when I added /cabin-suites to the URL it brought them up.) MSC really needs to test out their site better and fix all these little annoying issues.

MSC USA website doesn’t work as intended.. the web design team is doing a sloppy job.. launching changes without thoroughly testing of functionality and usability.

It’s an embarrassment for a company of this size.

MSC public relation department in Italy/Switzerland must step up for damage control.

LOL.  I did notice some typos.  I had to laugh because it was like this company was part of a high school project.
