Ovation of the seas, no drinks in pool but hit tub OK

Anyone ever been on sailing where they enforced no drinks in the pools? On Ovation right now and the lifeguards have been turning folks away from pools with drinks, but allowing drinks in hot tubs.  First cruise we've ever encountered this.

On Anthem ow and have seen people eating ice cream cones in the hot tub.  Maybe utensil-free food only?

We enjoyed plenty of cocktails and bottled water on Harmony (Sept.) and Odyssey (March) this year. All the drinks were served in plastic cups, so if there was an onboard shortage of plastic drinkware, maybe that's why they were restricting it on Ovation? Just a thought.

We've seen small kids turned away from the pool and/or hot tub when eating ice cream cones. Of course, I'd rather cruisers spill a drink or drop the ice cream vs something else!😲

I’ve been on spring break cruises where alcohol was not allowed in hot tubs but kids had ice cream cones in the hot tub🤔
