I booked an appointment online at Service Canada in Kelowna for October 18th. A week prior to my appointment I walked into the local BCCA office and had the required photos taken at a cost of $10.08. I arrived for my appointment a few minutes early with my completed renewal application and my photos and was on my way out within 20 minutes. I retained my old passport after a few holes were punched through it. My new passport was delivered to me on November 6. Regards, Paul We'll be booking our appointment to the Kelowna Service Canada office early next year. Thanks for the info on the ease of the process. CGinMTL Posted December 5, 2023 #102 Share Posted December 5, 2023 I just sent my request via Purolator today The website says 20 working days My next trip is may 2024, I expect to get it back in Jan 2024. I mailed to Gatineau office, all my passports usually get issued from there. Will be happy if I get the " old stock "
CGinMTL Posted December 22, 2023 #103 Share Posted December 22, 2023 I need to vent. My doc's were just returned to me I had an error in my credit card number Why do they ask for a phone no if they can't be bothered to call. Whole thing could have been resolved in 5 min. Took them more time ( and extra expense,) to return everything to me Seriously. I am not a happy camper

I know what I would do" Time to listen to your own excellent advice.

mahi mahi Posted December 29, 2023 #106 Share Posted December 29, 2023 Does anyone know if the rule about passports being valid for six months following disembarkation from your cruise uses calendar months or 184 days to determine validity? our cruise ends April 7 and my passport expires October 15. I've never seen any related requirement use terminology other than the number of months. So six months is six months, whether or not they include a February or a leap year where the day count would be different.
helovestrains Posted December 29, 2023 #108 Share Posted December 29, 2023 My six month expiry date was 03 Sep and the cruise returned 02 Sep. Didn't have any problems. I just went with the six month ruling.

I got mine both on the same day, but others have reported a big difference.
SailorJoe22 Posted January 20 #112 Share Posted January 20 I recently had to renew my passport, and the process was very simple. I lined up an hour before the office opened and was the first in line. Ten minutes after I arrived, the line had grown to about 40 people. I was in and out in 15 minutes, and the turnaround time is 7 days (with the $50 rush fee). The later in the day the more busy the office is.
