We might be asleep by then!

I suppose you don't stay up late then?

Going east to west is always better as you gain an hour of sleep three times as opposed to losing a total of three hours of sleep going the other way.

I see you took a few pictures of the parade. How about the baked alaska cake itself?

Ok now that this cruise is done I can share this one. This note has been on the wall of E708 down the hall from us the whole cruise! The note changed once a few days ago saying "Please change the sheets".  Never saw anyone come or go.

I'll entertain any and all guesses here!

Is this not the main berth that is usually used?

Welcome home.

It's been a while since I've been in or out of LA but we always used the other berth. It's been the same for years even during back to the TV show days.

Dining room for breakfast on disembarkation day and lunch on embarkation days are great pro tips!  Although I found the service on our last day (Jan2/23)to be very slow and disengaged. Still beats the chaos in the buffet.

Thanks!  The beach is to the left as you exit the pier.  It's kind of a restaurant row and they all do have umbrellas and chairs for rent.  Not sure of pricing.  We didn't go in the water but there is a dedicated swimming area.  Keep in mind the water in the Pacific is always cold.

Thanks for this information.

Hmmm... wonder what was happening in there? I thought they needed to come in at least once a day, or is that just on land?  (Or proposed legislation from the Route 91 killings?)

Thanks so much for all the info and food porn photos!

We're getting on in a couple of weeks and I have a Huatulco question if you don't mind...it looks like you can walk to the beach from the pier? Are there lounge chairs/umbrellas for rent? Should I bring water shoes for swimming there or is the bottom mostly sand?

This is my first crossing and your info has been really helpful, thanks!

Becky

We found we were able to use the ships Wi-Fi on the beach in Huatulco. It's very close.

Covid. When we were on the Grand in September, there were many cabins that had trays of dishes out in front of the door for many days. We think they were doing a self quarantine. There were also official looking envelopes posted on their doors. Cabin stewards may have mentioned this to the powers that be.

Crazy question. We had an amazing Christmas aboard the Discovery Princess. My only complaint was there was hardly any standard North America outlets (120V - I think, sorry). I think the others were European outlets and we could not purchase adapters on board. This was the first time we have ran into this issue. We actually cause the breaker to trip because we had to many hair appliances running at once - oops.

So, my question is what is the outlet situation on the Emerald Princess? Do we need to purchase some adaptors to make sure we have enough room to plug stuff in? Thanks in advance.

I had no problems with outlets and the typical North American outlets were available in my cabin.

You will be fine on the Emerald. We were on the Emerald last May.

We discovered the wildlife area when we were heading back to the ship and it was a treat! We hadn’t seen any monkeys on our sailing and Cartagena was our last port stop. We finally got our fill of monkeys in the wildlife area. So much fun to watch.
