If i were to book a flight at 1:00pm the day of debarkation would that be cutting it to close?

Do you mean a flight from Southampton airport, or do you mean from Heathrow or Gatwick?

Absolutely no problem at all,  assuming your ship arrives into Southampton on time.

Agreed. 

For most ships disembarkation starts around 7.30.

Taxi from the rank at the cruise terminal will take 15 to 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Single-terminal airport, small & easy.

Check-in for Ireland will probably be open until 45 minutes before flight time.

So have a lazy breakfast aboard while the lemmings are blocking the gangways, and breeze off as late as you can - you'll probably outstay your welcome sometime between 9.30 & 10.

 Pre-Covid about £21 from the rank, or £17 pre-booked eg West Quay Cars.

But there's been steep inflation since, I guess now something like £24 / £20.

 

If your cruise terminal is City (berth 101) or Horizon (berth 102) it's a 15 min walk to Southampton Central train station, then a ten-minute train ride to Southampton airport @ £4.40 per person, four trains per hour.

With luggage the station's a bit far to walk from other cruise terminals, and taxi + train will cut into the savings. 

If the weather's grim you might think the same from City or Horizon 😏
