Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted January 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2023 We have had several postings of how river ships get moved from one river to another, but how about an ocean ship all the way to French Polynesia? Canal archive Posted January 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2023 Yep that’s what I mean I searched for the Scenic one and I know it was only a clip but on their website. I find it completely fascinating. Not to much of a challenge with a flat hull but a tad more challenging with a V hull.
Rare notamermaid Posted January 12, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2023 Fascinating topic. I actually saw a river cruise ship hull being transported on the Rhine last year live! From a distance and without the means to take a proper photo. Do not even remember the name. Pity. On the river it is a ship attached to ship transport of course, either pushed or pulled alongside. Remember the webcam spotting at Rüdesheim of the MS Alisa being taken by the MS Johanna to the Netherlands? notamermaid
Canal archive Posted January 12, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2023 Breasted together evidently makes steering extremely difficult according to the boating fraternity.
Rare *Miss G* Posted January 13, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2023 Early morning in December 2018, we had just docked in Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas, USVI, when Yacht Transport showed up. They docked next to us to unload the smaller boats, then moved out to drop their hull for the yachts. It was a fascinating process.
