Ships dock right in centre. Walk off right into hobart cbd. Tours etc all available. It’s my fav place! It’s what got us cruising. We were on holiday in Hobart and saw this huge cruise ship just at the dock outside our hotel! We were mesmerised, and hooked! “I’m taking my wife on a cruise” declared my husband in 2009 and our first cruise was a Christmas cruise Melbourne to NZ. Hooked ever since 🥰
Rare lyndarra Posted January 21, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Last time in Hobart Feb 2020 I visited the Hobart Museum of Old and New Art - MONA. It's a nice ferry ride up the river from the ferry terminal which is adjacent to the cruise terminal. It's not open every day. But, IMHO, is well worth a visit. Ferry tickets, Museum admission and museum restaurant are all cashless, card only. https://mona.net.au/ https://www.discovertasmania.com.au/things-to-do/arts-and-culture/museumofoldandnewartmona/
timtam2 Posted January 21, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2023 I'm not sure if there are tour operators there but the Hop on Hop off bus sets up a little ticket booth outside the terminal area. You can't get on the bus there though ( only off) you need to walk a block or 2 up closer to the CBD for the pickup spot. https://reddecker.com.au/map-times/ There are also boat, sea plane operators a short walk away too. 1
NSWP Posted January 21, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2023 If you are interested in Antarctic history, visit the Mawsons Hut museum on the Waterfront.

We were in Hobart yesterday. The hoho bus is outside the Information Centre on the corner of Davey and Elizabeth Streets. I would guess it's about 1 km from the ship. There were tour booths set up around the corner from there. 1

Last time I was there the bus stopped right out the front.
