pilot Posted January 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2023 We are on the second leg of our B2B and wanted to report on the Starlink internet. I pre purchased the Stream 2 device package. The cost was $237.93 each week…that was the pre purchase price with Elite discount. The internet was great! I experience very fast speeds with no delay. It’s expensive, but good. Was on Sky Princess Jan 7-14 and paid $87.50 for the 4 device package. It is cheaper but really slow.
Rare Pennstatedj Posted January 23, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2023 Hi, would you tell me who is captain on Apex now? We are sailing on feb 11. Thanks.
ohiojohn Posted January 23, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2023 We were in the Retreat last week on the Apex. Now the internet speed can move around a lot but here is a screen shot when I checked the speed because it seemed to be running real fast.
Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted January 23, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2023 Amazing. Not sure why, the Solstice is only like double the speed of the previous internet setup. Hardly ever even went over 3Mbps
Rare Jim_Iain Posted January 23, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2023 Agree with @NutsAboutGolf When we were aboard Solstice speeds were I think Max 8 up and 6 down. We were on the first cruise after installation so maybe they need to tweak and tune it.

I know someone was banned (at least partially) for discussing who is onboard, but the Captain is Panagiotis Skylogiannis (a long time Captain). Information like who the captain currently is is readily available - at least for people sailing. And they are free to report who was captain on their sailing. It's the "When is so-and-so on vacation? When are they coming back?" and such that crossed the line.
ohiojohn Posted January 23, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 23, 2023 One last observation about the high internet speeds last week on the Apex. A few days before the cruise I counted around 150 open veranda staterooms for our cruise. So maybe the potential internet load was reduced by less users on the ship.
