Islandbuoy Posted January 30, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2023 Wondering if I can change from a "non-refundable" to a refundable fare? Same ship, date & cabin--prior to final payment??
CHEZMARYLOU Posted January 30, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2023 As far as I know, no. You can change from refundable to nonrefundable but not from non refundable to refundable. 1

You can change the ship and sail date if you pay a $100 change fee, but there's no going from non-refundable to refundable. Otherwise, everyone looking to cancel a non-refundable booking would just then change to refundable and then cancel.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted January 30, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2023 You indeed can change if a cabin is available or higher. If same category they will probably charge you $100 pp. but wold be subject to current fare and perk. I have done it in the opposite direction changing from a refundable to non-refundable by upgrading (prices were about the same) since it was close to final payment date. For that I did not have to pay the $100 pp

For that I did not have to pay the $100 pp There's just no way they would allow a switch from non-refundable to refundable, even if you signed up to pay more for the cruise by upgrading to a different room. They would have so many people trying to do this in order to get back their deposits which were originally non-refundable. Tell me I'm crazy.
