Theatre Shows

You won't find out for sure until you are onboard.  All of the events are published in the Princess Patter which is delivered to the cabin the night before.  Some of the shows will appear on Journey View earlier in the app but subject to change until you board.  Generally through the main shows will be at either 7 or 7:30 with a second show two hours later.  There will also be other events like trivia or game shows and those can be at any time during the evening.

If you are planning on trying to make the "early" show you need to allow anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours time in the MDR.  You might get lucky and find that they are serving much quicker, but very often this will be the time required.  Plan accordingly...or just wait for the later show.

These days, in general, for sailings out of North American ports, the show times tend to be 7:30 and 9:30. They will show up in the App in the JourneyView section sometime before you sail.  IIRC there may have been reports of different (later) show times for European sailings. For our last three sailings in 2022 and for our next one in two weeks, they are/were 7:30 and 9:30PM

Thanks to "All" for the info.

I guess my next question, is: "Are the shows in the main theater worth the effort or should we just enjoy a nice dining experience meeting new people?"  😏

I would concentrate on the shows more than meeting new people. You can meet them all day long or after the show at any of the other venue's or bars. The production shows are only presented twice (early and late) once per cruise.

I agree and usually that is what my husband and I focus on.  We are sailing on the Regal on a 25-day with a 6-day TA at the end.  This is the largest ship (4,000 person) we will be sailing on and very port intensive.  Trying to "fit everything in" may be exhausting.  We are scheduled for excursions in all but a few ports. Arriving back to ship late afternoon.  We may choose to enjoy the theater on the TA portion of our sail and focus on enjoying some cocktails and dining with new cruisers the first half.

Princess is much different than Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.  The Medallion app, Personalizer, and just all the planning.  I like to have a plan ahead of time and then we have an option of changing it later.  I think on this cruise I am just going to forget all that.  Board the ship and see what  is going on.  With 25 days, I'm sure we can cover quite a bit!  Ha, ha.
