mahasamatman Posted February 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2023 Is it worth checking in for the second part of a back-to-back? On our last one, it didn't seem to make any difference - they even had to take our picture again as they couldn't access the checkin information - but I don't know how important the other parts of the checkin process (like the health questions) are. Northern Aurora Posted February 4, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2023 We don't bother to print an Xpress pass for any additional legs. And we have always had to have our security photo taken again. At the B2B meetings we have had the documentation officer tell folks to stop at Guest Relations to confirm our credit card information but we don't bother unless Guest Relations asks that we do so.
mahasamatman Posted February 4, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted February 4, 2023 We didn't need new photos on our first B2B last year (Summit/Reykjavik), but on our second one (Eclipse/Sydney) we did. I'm not sure which photos they used for our Summit B2B.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 4, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2023 I usually just log in and it sometimes saves me 30 seconds. Even if I have a photo on both check-in's they often take pictures again.
mahasamatman Posted February 4, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted February 4, 2023 I just wish Celebrity was as on-the-ball as Princess. Princess treats back-to-back cruises as a single cruise. No muss, no fuss.
annnrl Posted February 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2023 We are currently on our second cruise of our b2b Equinox cruises. The process of switching from one to another was ridiculous. After completing the first cruise they told us to meet at 9:15 in one of the lounges. We waited there for 45 minutes. We were then marched down the hall where we waited another 20 minutes to leave the ship. We then had to take the long ramp walk into the cruise building. We had to get our pictures taken again. Afterwards we had to take the long trek on the ramps again to get back on the ship. The entire process took almost 1 1/2 hours. Once we were back onboard we were told we could check into our muster station. When we got there, no one was there. We had another hour wait (we wouldn’t have waited, but, we were told someone was on their way several times.) From all of the chaos, you would have thought that this was the first time they had ever had passengers do a b2b. Epic fail Celebrity.
Rare DaKahuna Posted February 6, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 6, 2023 It could have been worse. You could have been put in the terminal with the new passengers and boarding in the same order they boarded. Leaving the ship and going into the terminal is not under Celebrity's control. That is something required by US Customs and Border Protection. I do agree Celebrity could have handled the must station situation better. We have learned that we have plenty of time after setting foot onboard to do other things and tend to have lunch and then go to our muster stations.
